Davutoglu: Liberation of occupied Azerbaijani lands strategic goal for Turkey

Gas and oil gushing out from damn country but only 15-20 years ago they were at same level with a third world african country... no fvcking ability they had to use that source of wealth properly... and managed to survive thanks to underground sources, soviet era nukes and tech... otherwise they would splitted out into 15 countries... they didn't do much after ussr collapsed.. the only thing makes them untouchable is the nuke capability... they can be only bully to georgia and ukraine... a professional nato army? not that stupid..

How I am that certain?.. I have enough over aged russian friends living in my city who witnessed a couple of decades past of russia... I am discussing with them about these issues...left russia because of poverty... probably they know better than you and me...

Armenia is not Muslim. Iran is Muslim. Turkey speaks of reclaiming Azeri territory from Armenia. Does it also seek to reclaim Azeri territory from Iran?
They won't openly say that but Iran accuses Azerbaijan of supporting Azeri in Iran.

-----------

Iran's Azeri population is the largest of all minorities at approximately 22 million people, around 25% of the entire Iranian population. They are a Shi'a, Turkic-speaking nation who live primarily in several provinces in Northwest Iran. This minority suffers from linguistic, cultural, and ethnic discrimination, and its region’s natural resources are essentially looted by the central government. There is rampant unemployment and poverty in the Azeri regions, and there has been an effort by the government to “Persianize” the Azeri provinces. Admittedly, a large number of Azeris have overcome discrimination to become elite members of Iranian society. Grand Ayatollah Khamanei says he is an ethnic Azeri, though few believe this claim.

The government in Tehran arbitrarily arrests and tortures Azeri political prisoners calling for Azeri independence and clamps down hard on Azeri student demonstrations at the University of Tabriz. The South Azerbaijan National Liberation Front (GAMAC) states that Azeris don’t have access to the Iranian political system or educational system in their mother tongue. In late 2013, 5 Azeri political prisoners went on a hunger strike after Rouhani failed to implement his campaign promises. Iran has undertaken efforts, quite successfully, to create friction between Azeris and Kurds, as each are battling to create new provinces in Iran and bills of rights that protect their own minority interests. Having said that, in the spring of 2009 explosions at a police barracks in Western Azerbaijan province were said to be carried out by Azeri and Kurdish separatists purportedly working together.

Groups like GAMAC and the Azerbaijan Liberation Front (ANRO) seem more committed to a non-violent struggle at the present time, though an armed rebellion could occur given ample external support and a rise in the current trend towards nationalist separatism – a trend that Iran now sees as a threat to its national security. Even if armed struggle is not the current course for Iranian Azeri groups, Azeris have their own country to the north of Iran that is already aiding Israel in pursuing an agenda of Iranian destabilization. Such an effort on the part of Azerbaijan is based not just on the unresolved Iranian Azeri issue - which it has historically tried to stay away from - but also because of other bilateral points of contention with Iran.

Well "Turkey" speaks of liberation of Azerbaijans occupied territories but not that its going to happen with Turkish forces or anything.
Does it also seek to reclaim Azeri territory from Iran
Why should Turkey seek to do that? They are our fellow muslims right? We only fight Kuffars bro thats how we roll :rofl::rofl::rofl::hitwall:
or is this purely an anti-kuffar affair
So u really went there, could u elaborate how the Nargorno-Karabakh issue was about religion and stopping and illegal occupation could be called an anti-kuffar affair?

As I said, Turkey chose to take upon itself the task of reclaiming Azeri land. I don't know why, but that's what the article stated. So I will answer your question with my own, still unanswered question: Why did Turkey restrict itself to reclaiming Azeri land from Armenia, and not Azeri land from Iran? Other than the fact that Armenia is weaker than Iran, I see one major difference between Armenia and Iran, which I have stated. Please answer the question this time so I can understand your perspective on this.

Because Armenia didn't get to force Azerbaijan to make a treaty that gives Karabakh to Armenia. Under international law, Karabakh is Azerbaijani land. Iran sided with Armenia in the past. You could probably guess why.

Well Armenia is illegally occupying Azerbaijans territorry, Iran is not. There might be a lot of Azeris in Iran but how is this related to that?
In which part of the Article is it written that Turkey will recalim these lands?
"Liberation of occupied Azerbaijani lands is a strategic goal for the Turkish government, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Monday during a speech in Parliament."

He is wondering if Turkey considers Southern Azerbaijan to be occupied territory just as it considers karabakh to be.

@LeveragedBuyout

The answer is no. Turkey as far as we know from official statements doesn't see that as an objective.

Its limited to Armenia because Armenia is the only one who occupies Azerbaijani territorium according to international law, it has absolutely nothing to do with being kuffar non-kuffar, there are ''kuffar'' countrys who have a closer bonds with Turkey than most muslim countrys in the world if thats your concern, besides, we couldnt care less about others religion.

All we need is time everything will be ok all the unfair situations around Turkey. Iran played pkk card against Turkey, Turkey played Azeri card against Iran, when the games finish, there will be nomore game, till that time comes, we continue to our way step by step...not all in One step...

That is true. They played PKK against us including Greece, Syria and Armenia. But we never played Azeri against Iran. At least not yet.

Greece is economically ruined and can't go on adventures. No threat.
Armenia's borders are isolated and threatened by Azerbaijni casus beli. No threat.
Assad's Syria we all know the situation. They wouldn't dare to support PKK like in the past.
Only Iran is left. I hope they won't make the same mistake like in the past.

What is turkey's benefit in getting involved in a tussle with the bear over azerbaijani and armenians smacking each other, just another mess, turkey should stay clear of..syria should have taught davotglu well and that was next door.Instead turkey should hijack the food exports of EU to russia for itself during the ban and profit.Turkish foreign policy has been highly erratic lately..blunders in egypt-diplomatic relations and economic-military deals scrapped, blunders in syria-no benefit except having the burden of a million refugees on its economy,Israel-confusion,Iraq- mess with kurds compl;icating picture...last thing they need is another problem with russia.

You would be right if it wasnt Azerbaijan we are talking about, its our duty to protect Azerbaijans interests since their interests are our interests, their loss is our loss.
