Urban areas catering to a upper middle class do not represent the whole society. Even in these areas, females suffer heavily. Even the educated female doctors , wives of educated people suffer domestic abuse thanks to our male masochistic highly patriarchal system.
Karo-kari and honour killings are still widespread. Victims of sexual abuse are harassed not to speak and bring "dis honour" to the family. A women is still the "dignity" of the males of a family and either a sister, daughter or wife. She has no independent identity. The property of males.
well you find all kind of cases in Pakistan thanks to their large population and old tribal systems.
We have been witnessing the decline in such cases gradually and this problem is not only in Pakistan right? There are a lot more cases in our neighbouring countries take an example of India where the female childrens are still burried alive or aborted after finding it if its a girl or a boy.
But why don't we take an example of other nations instead it has nothing to do with Islam right? these are just our social problems that is being resolved day by day. Why don't we follow india instead and start thinking positively. Why we always crying over the dark side of Pakistan. Why we don't cheer up for the positive things happening in Pakistan?
Take an example of Pakistan in 2000 and 2010. Womens have been more independant, more educated and more civilized. There was a time when womens working was considered a curse but now you find womens in all fields. Take an example of this forum where we have so many educated womens and workin in so many professions. Hope for the betterment in 2020
