Caste is becoming irrelevant in India...its happening slowly but very surely.

slowly in cities (considering over 60 yrs of independence) and almost stagnant in villages (esp in UP, bihar etc)

OBC -- other backward castes ....lesser than brahmins n kshatriyas, but within the chaturvarna system (caste system)
SC -- scheduled castes ..... lesser than the less, the most unholy....outside the chaturvarna
