The victim also had to get police protection to save himself from the upper caste Hindus.

Reports also suggest that the groom, Pawan Malviya's, family had been injured during the incident.

However, according toNDTV, the two warring sides managed to reach a consensus.

"As part of what district officials described as a compromise between the two sides, the upper caste families agreed to keep their doors shut so they would not have to watch a Dalit groom on a horse,"reportedNDTV.

The police arrested 27 people for the stone pelting.

NDTVquoteda senior police officer as saying, "It is a dispute between two groups in the Nirun village. The procession was finally allowed to move peacefully and without incident. We have registered a case against around 70 people."

In the very best interest of India, PM Modi should address the countrymen and say from today, all Indians are equal, there are no casts and no human is superior or inferior to other. If somebody tried to play at cast, he will be prosecuted and humiliated publicly.

PM Modi is the time of high-tide. He can set India free of all discrimination. He took Bank Initiative, he took toilet initiative - would you not question why humans discrimination is not a "problem worth solving" ?

Existence of law in the books doesn't solve the problem. I am sure India would have law against rape - but having this law in the books is not helping. You got to do more than filling the books with rules.

India's sects problem is not a national or a political problem, it is a humanitarian problem. 25% of Indians are treated "just better than animals" while 25% top Brhmans are privileged by birth. Problems are solved when problems are felt - and this is what I am tying to point that you have a problem and a possible solution. MODI can raise his stature to National Hero if he takes initiatives to protect humans from humans.

I don't need to win a case about India from Indians - you are the better judge but this suggestion is with utmost sincerity and hoping best for the people of India.

aahahahaha only in india , what a funny country this india is
and India has the courage to accept that there are flaws in her. As with acknowledgement we can find the solution as well. We are not in denial like many others though the same problems in one way or other exist in every country.

I guess he already took it by saying for him only Indian is the religion, and Constitution is the religious book. But may he has to be more direct in addressing this issue. But I bet he cannot do that as of now as castism is too deep rooted and even the educated ones are not away from it. Things are changing but at very slow pace.

Chutiyapa of high class hindus in our villages knows no bounds. Utterly shameful incident.

Throw all those morons in Jails and force them to watch Dalits riding horses everyday!
