Cultural aggression creating demand for Indian goods in Bangladesh

is this hindu stealth subversion??

seems like something straight from the cold war.

i think it's still happening in the U.S subversion that is whether from communists or zionists.

Indian DTH TV service and Indian cinema are banned in Bangladesh, but they watch these through piracy and smuggling of Indian DTH boxes. We make programs and films for our consumption, not for them. So I am not sure what they are shouting about. :)

I doubt any one of you Bhartiya jack-asses have laid foot inside Bangladesh. Commenting from the comfort of your Internet chai-stall in Dharavi.

It's the Bangladeshis like you who can't make decent programs and cinemas for themselves, and resort to piracy, smuggling and such other illegal means to watch our TV programs and cinemas. Who do you think are the real jack-asses?

.
Indians don't want to get rid of Bengalis from Assam and West Bengal as long as they are Indians, we Indians only want to get rid of the illegal Bangladeshis immigrants coming here and creating a social and law & order crisis.

Many Indians come here and call for Bengalis to migrate to India accusing Bangladeshis doing atrocities on them. But those Bengalis are also very much Bangladeshi. Then they call some Bengalis to leave from India accusing them as illegal Bangladeshis. My point was to Levina that, if all the Bengalis are same then why the double standard between Bengalis. In fact I wanted to say they arent same.

Goddess Durga is very much revered and worshiped in all parts of India. Where did you get this idea? Sri Ganesha puja is a big festival in Mumbai, but that doesn't mean rest of India don't worship lord Ganesha. "Navratri" is a big festival in north Indian states like Gujrat, and that is a Maa Durga festival. Vaishno Devi is also Maa Durga, barring Laxmi and Saraswati, almost all prime Hindu goddesses that you know by different names including Maa Kali, is Maa Durga, or "AdiShakti".

Now I come to realise that Hindu Sena dynasty migrated from Kannada and influenced Bengalis in Durga Puja. Otherwise Bengali Hindus would be mostly Buddhists.

Many Indians here call Hindu Bengalis of Bangladesh to migrate to India for their own safety & security, it is only humane to support people being persecuted for decades after they ended up on the wrong part of the border post partition, and both you and I know why.
And Indians call for evicting the illegal Muslim Bangladeshi Bengalis because they are opportunistic economic migrants who come here illegaly and create troubles.

Just for example; EU took millions of Syrian migrants on humane ground, but they won't take economic migrants, even professionals, engineers without careful consideration.

Now I come to realise that Hindu Sena dynasty migrated from Kannada and influenced Bengalis in Durga Puja. Otherwise Bengali Hindus would be mostly Buddhists.

Buddhism itself came from Hinduism and share the same principals. Rest of your post is a trolling attempt.

I will present a counterpoint and say that within a decade you will see parts of India break up under their own flags.

I do not say this in trolling fashion but with logic.

India stayed together in previous generations because of Hinduist pacifism. Gareebon ka bhai Gareeb. Squatting in your langotis, looking at the parched sky, suffering in the heat and drought together. Kaua ka bacchhon....

In the new century - India is getting developed, but not equally. There are the open-defecation toilet-kingdoms of the BIMARU states, MP etc. Then you have development IT and manufacturing hubs of Hyderabad, Mumbai/Pune, Delhi/Gurgaon, Chennai, Bengaluru etc.

Pretty soon, you will see wealthier India start complaining about undeveloped India. They will not want to be saddled with the problems of the toilet-states. This is bound to happen also because of (imagined or real) non-homogeneous racial, religious cultural and genetic makeup. This is why Pakistan and Bangladesh split up - although not at the same time. This was also the reason for the Khalistan movement.

Is that why Bangladesh remained an extremely underdeveloped dirt poor non-entity in all parts, to remain united in their poverty and unimportance?

And is that why some Bangladeshis like you try to be all macho in internet with random use of abuses all the time, to make up for your worthlessness?

It would be better if you guys stop trying to be like us and stop eating what we eat, stop wearing what we wear, stop watching what we watch...because you are not us, that part you also agree.

And you watch our programs, cinemas illegally, the artists, directors, producers gain nothing out of it. Stop doing that, it is called piracy.

Rain man - you sound like a broken record. Stop already.

Your FMCG advertisers are just way too happy that they don't have to spend for ads in our market. Our watching this illegally is a boon for your advertisers to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. We are a nation of 160 million but that's equivalent to a 320 million market in India because we don't have kanjoosi in our blood.

If our lower middle class stops buying your third rate FMCG products like 'Brittania' biscuits, 'Ovaltine', 'Maltova', 'Titan' Watches, 'Fair and Lovely' crap then we'd instantly correct the existing trade deficit....

Yeah tell it to somebody who gives a shit....

Poverty and non-importance (there is no English word called 'unimportance'- google it) - hmmmmm.

Perchance would you be talking about down in the dumps, effed-up, 'sad-sack', 'paradhin' Waste Bengal, whose backward economy is a joke even in the rest of India??

The educated beggar state within a third-world country itself?? Where tram conductors know how to argue about philosophy but make less than three thousand rupees a month?

The laziness and non-accountability even amazes those of us from Bangladesh....

No Sir, I doubt we have exceeded you folks in worthlessness.....:-)

Waste-Bengali babus are the biggest butt of lazy-jokes in the rest of India...

Most Indian products are not allowed entry in Bangladesh, most of our advertisers gain nothing. It is us who should be complaining about the piracy market of our films in Bangladesh, which is officially banned. How Bangladeshis think that they get to complain here?

I object to the Bangladeshi desperation to copy our culture, and our fashion, and our everything else, when they are different by their own admission. We want to preserve our culture among us Indians, and don't want people who are different to steal and copy it.

And Bangladeshis have no right to watch our TV programs and cinemas, that too through illegal means, these are copyright materials.

Yeah tell it to somebody who gives a shit....

Yet, it's the West Bengali babus who gave you your cultural identity, your official language, your national anthem, and most probably your country's name also. All of these you guys so proudly call yours.

Cultural aggression creating demand for Indian goods!

Indian-fasion-wares.jpg

Al Helal Shuvo, thereport24.com, Dhaka:

The unhindered cultural aggression through open-ended satellite channels of India in Bangladesh is not just posing a serious threat to the indigenous local culture and its tradition, but it has also been creating a huge market for Indian goods and fashion wares.

With India almost sweeping Bangladesh in terms of a wide range of goods, products and culture, the general people are now in fear that the country’s rich cultural heritage like Jari, Sari and Bhatiali songs and also Jatrapala could gradually become entirely extinct in the future as an impact of the overwhelming spread of the alien Indian culture and ultimate market aggression, warned cultural activists and market analysts.

The country’s cultural activists and figures concerned have for the past few years been saying that no Bangladeshi TV channel is aired in India whereas Bangladeshi audience literally die for watching Indian programmes. In doing so, they are also being compelled to watch Indian commercials.

Speaking about the impact of Indian culture on Bangladeshi audience, noted cultural figure Ramendu Mazumder said: “Indian culture will surely dominate us if we ourselves are eager to watch their programmes. My question is why we ourselves take interest in their programmes? I would say this is one of our shortcomings due to love for alien culture.”

Indian soap operas dominate Bangladeshi households

Indian channels mostly air soap operas, popularly known as mega serials or drama serials in Bangladesh. Such programmes are not commonplace in the Bangladeshi entertainment industry that is why our audience takes an avid interest in those despite their unrealistic storyline.

Indian soap operas are in great demand among Bangladeshi girls and housewives as they mostly watch those as they have nothing to do at home other than watching TV. Commercials promoting Indian products are aired during breaks and it is believed that those adverts are helping to create a large market for Indian goods and products in Bangladesh too along with the cultural aggression.

Soap opera plots usually revolve around stories relating to the people’s daily activities and the cast generally, portray attractive and rich individuals. Family conflict, extramarital affairs, romance and tension are the principal emotions portrayed in the soap operas which hold the audience spellbound. This is the reason why the audience so easily remembers Indian commercials, other than that of ours.

“Watching soap operas is a kind of addiction. Those also play key role in bringing about changes in our society. In general, the people are more inclined to watch Indian programmes because of lack of healthy entertainment programmes in the country,” says Dr Ashok Kumar Saha, Associate Professor of Psychology at Jagannath University.

“Adverts are aired during breaks. This means the soap operas involve commercial plans,” he adds.

Soap operas creating apparel markets surreptitiously

A look at the religious festivities over the past few years reveals potential buyers are more interested in buying Indian clothing instead of native fashions like Jamdani or Tangail sarees, Silk of Rajshahi and other handloom sarees. Indian clothing lines are generally named after popular soap operas or members of the cast. Some of the popular names include Tapurtupur, Manabi, Love you love you, Anamika, Baha and Devdas.

“These dresses usually don’t come cheap. Besides, they are in great demand here in Bangladesh,” says clothing retailer Rubel Hossain.

“The general trend is that the more the name of a product sounds Indian, the more it will take off in terms of sales,” a retailer in Old Dhaka tells thereport24.com.

Apart from clothing, ubiquity of Indian products in Bangladesh is also noticeable when it comes to beauty care products and others frequently used in the people’s daily lives.

“The widespread popularity of Indian products is hurting Bangladeshi entrepreneurs badly. We have nothing to say in this regard as there is an association which will adopt required measures. However, if they want, we will extend our assistance,” says FBCCI vice-president Helal Uddin, adding that organizations representing the country’s TV channels should also come forward in this regard.

Indian cinemas and music dominate Bangladeshi landscape

In addition to Indian TV channels, Bollywood films have almost monopolistic influence upon the Bangladeshi audience as most of the youngsters prefer those cinemas to Bangladeshi ones. Instead of being entertained by programmes made in their mother tongue, Bangladeshis are quite used to watch programmes in Hindi too.

On Facebook, Bangladeshi youths are seen using images of Indian cinemas or TV programmes as their profile pictures. This has helped grow the market for Indian artistes as they performed in a number of concerts in Bangladesh in the recent past, resulting in cultural aggression public with mute outrage.

Mentioning the growing influence of Indian films in Bangladesh’s entertainment arena, popular artiste Raisul Islam Asad says this cannot be checked in this age of globalization if we fail to produce quality works then there would be demand for others’ quality production here.

“We should inspect why the people are more eager to watch Indian cinemas because we cannot force someone to stop watching those,” he tells thereport24.com.

Claiming that there should be initiatives to protect our own culture, the acclaimed actor opines the family could play a key role in resisting the spread of alien culture and traditions.

“Besides, those who work in the field of entertainment and cinema, they must produce works that are able to attract the youngsters. Only by doing so we can ensure a change in the existing state of our cinema industry,” he explains.

What brand of ganja are we using today? I'd like some because you're in cloud nine now...

West Bengali Baboos did not even want a University to be established in Dhaka in the 1920's. Cultural identity my foot.

In the whole history of Calcutta University, not one East Bengal Muslim student ever scored in the Merit list and that was by design of your religious-discriminatory waste-Bengali professor cliques. Some shameful history....

Take your gandhagi hokey crap and peddle it somewhere else....

The National Anthem going to be changed soon, as soon as SHW leaves office. Bangladesh deserves and will get a better National Anthem than this Waste Bengali whiny effeminate sob-sister melody....

Most Indian products are not allowed entry in Bangladesh, most of our advertisers gain nothing.

That is another piece of humongous gandhagi bullsh*t, @damiendehorn bhai, can you believe this guy??

Indian FMCG products in sachets (even Paan-Gutka) is in every street corner chai-stall....

All your Indian FMCG majors here and some are even manufacturing locally, like Dabur, Godrej, Marico etc. Even several Indian motor bike brands like Hero have large factories....

This is from two odd years ago but Adi Godrej is a better business man than a lot of the PDF posters.....

May be you are over thinking your worth. Bangladeshis rely on West Bengali babus for least. Cultural identity is native to the people of the land. National anthem is changeable. But Rabindranath used BD territory and got his name. And for a time being was part of BD. And his ancestors were from BD's Jessore district, so BD may use some if she likes. The national anthem tune he took was from a Baul (Gagan Harkara) in Kushtia, native to BD. Its gracious attitude of BD. And country name was derived from Sultan Shams-ud-din Ilyas Shah who took the title "Shah-e-Bangalah" and promoted Bengali language and literatures.

Yet, your culture is not exactly your independent culture, but heavily borrowed from our West Bengali culture. Even your newspapers, magazines heavily use West Bengali version of Bengali, and not any of the East Bengali dialects....what more to say?

Brother, first make up your mind, our products cannot be 'crappy that no Bangladeshi uses' in one thread, and 'present everywhere in Bangladesh' in another thread.

Let me know first which one of these two contradictory stances that you take is pure gas talk.

Rabindranath was born in Kolkata, his primary home was in Kolkata, and Bangladesh as a country didn't even exist in his time. Kabi Nazrul was also an Indian, on Bangladesh's request, and with our permission he accepted Bangladeshi citizenship in the fag end of his life, just to give Bangladesh an opportunity to have a renowned poet in their country, because Bangladesh didn't have any. But all his work was done as an Indian.

Since Bangladeshis claim to be completely different from us with no similarities, you should stop claiming our icons as yours.

Nazrul wasnt in a mental condition to say yes or no to anything. Other parts of Bengal were supposed to be part of BD but it didnt happen because of opposition from pro Indian west bengalis. But our ideology or claims didnt vanish. We will say according to our ideology and define what is Bangladesh and you can keep on defining what is India.

How could West Bengali Hindus join a political campaign under the banner of Muslim League to create a separate homeland for Muslims? There is no 'supposed to be' here...

And Bangladesh is free to decide its ideology and culture, but since Bangladeshis are claiming that they are different in e-v-e-r-y w-a-y, including food, fashion, language, culture, literature, etc., all I am asking you is not to copy/steal/borrow/use any of these things that are remotely similar to ours, and/or completely ours.

And tell me, why Bangladeshis should watch our cinemas through pirated copies, our TV channels through smuggled DTH boxes, and then cry about cultural invasion? Leave our TV programs and cinemas alone @Bilal9 @damiendehorn , period.

Hindus did not like secular Krishak Praja party either. They were too busy protecting free land from british boot licking.

KPP lost out on popularity to Muslim League, so even muslims didn't prefer it.

Agree to your last line, and that's why we don't consider you guys Bengali.

Now..

Stop cooking your beef in a typical Indian way with lots of spices and gravy, typically known as curry...
Stop eating all other Indian foods like daal, sabzi, roti, paratha, daalpuri, singara/samosa and typically Indian sweets like sandesh, rosogolla, etc.

Stop wearing typically Indian dresses. Stop speaking a language that came from Sanskrit, and very similar to Indian languages, especially the north Indian language group. Stop reciting our poetry, stop singing our song. And yes stop watching our TV programs and TV shows, we didn't make these for your consumption, that too illegally.

In short, you are different, so stop copying us.

Btw, think about changing your religion also, or at least the sect, because most Bangladeshis (if not all) follow the Indian sects of Islam.

Indian sects? Pahahahahaha. We have our own tariqahs in BD like maizbhandari and fultali. Many Bangladeshis are also Salafis, it's not just Deobandis and Tableeghis. We don't copy you

Rainman babu, have you had a look at Bollywood lately???? I'm not saying it's copying us but it is clearly trying to copy its neighbours towards the west lmao.
