BEIJING, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Two light frigates designed and built by the China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) for the Bangladeshi navy were delivered Wednesday.

The delivery ceremony was held at a CSIC base in Qidong, east China's Jiangsu Province.

Wu Xiaoguang, deputy general manager of CSIC, said the corporation had a long history of cooperation with the Bangladeshi navy. He expressed the hope that the cooperation for mutual benefits would be deepened.

Man, I keep getting lost in how many ships we are going to get.

We were supposed to get 4 ships from China right? Are these 2 of them? Or was this a different deal?

And please correct me, KSY was also building 4 IIRC. So we are scheduled to get 8 ships in total?!

This two probably the remaining corvette. We will add two second hand frigate from China this year.

BNS Sheikh Mujib, seems to be the latest of the Navy bases, where is it located?

Khilkhet in Dhaka (mainly as a Helicopter base and for administrative functions).

and two new frigate construction to start early next year.
navy is rolling pretty great

it's the wire guided torpedo... new altogether and supposedly we're the first export customer

2 new frigates will add some much needed teeth to the air-defence capabilities of BN with their FL3000N SAM system.

Any idea which country has been given the contract to partner with BN for the next-gen frigates?

Yes - two second-hand Type-053H3 to come from China as well this year.

Type 053H3 ( Jiangwei-II Class) is the prior (older) version of the Type 054 which is a medium weight frigate (2400 tonnes).
