Keep crying
The US is not even close to spending what it was in the 1980s as a percentage of GDP on defense. The US could comfortably spend another $500-600B on defense. IMO, the US should be spending at least $1T.
US is losing this game.
China has more room to increase the defense budget as a percent of GDP than the US.
Even though
in nominal terms 1 USD = 6.37 Chinese Yuan
in PPP terms 1 USD = 4.186 Chinese Yuan
So Chinese defense budget of $252.3 is in fact $384 Billion in PPP terms
Currently US Defense budget $770 Billion is 3.4% of US GDP ($22.6Trillions)
While China's $384 Billion is only 1.4% of Chinese GDP ( $26.6 Trillion)
If China increase her defense budget to 3.4% to match that of the US, Chinese defense budget would be $906 Billion while US is only $770 Billion
