Crimea, China's headache?

Hardly, there's so many articles on Crimea is a headache for China and China doesn't want to support Russia because Tibet and Xinjiang, and what not.

Why would this matter to us? The Lama has been running around for decades now, and even he supports one China now. As to the Xinjiang cause, most people don't even know there is one, and even if they did, due to the nature of their campaign, it's a tough sell to Western audiences at best.

Like most people in the world, most people don't care about politics, just want to feed their family earn a living. Maybe these Free-whatever campaign westerners should visit these places and actually talk to a few common man, and not just show the radicals and not the average person.


If Chinese just look at news shows about France, we think France is a hole what with all the protests and things. But if they watched a travel show and people talk about their experience with the common man just going to work, spend time with the family, life is pretty good.


Lastly, china is a great power, we are in no danger of being split up, if people think China is being split up, then I got a house on mars I want to show you. You know how they say Shit don't roll up hill, that's what they meant.

We can support Russia 24/7 and not one thing will change.

But we are just not as stupid as the Americans and pivot to Asia and leave no room for negotiation or compromise if it comes to it. Never shut the door on yourself, you are only leaving yourself out in the cold.

Tibet has too few people so it cannot secede from China. Xinjiang can be armed by Taliban which could be a danger. Nevertheless, over half of Xinjiang's population are already Han so it cannot secede from China by referendum. China wants a bigger and more powerful Russia as a buffer against the US, so it covertly backs Russian annexation of the Russian parts of Ukraine even though officially it remains neutral.

There is no reason for us to involved in Crimea crisis unless NATO involved. Russia can handle it themselves. Threaten of economic sanction on Russia has no meaning. It will trigger retaliation with Russia and Europe will die together. In fact, I argue that Crimea situation is helping our national interest. We already know the West will not support us in Tibet, Taiwan, and Xinjiang no matter what we pick currently in the Ukraine crisis. The question will always be, are they willing to risk MAD with us over the conflict. As long as we are strong militarily and economically, we can defer any US's adventure and hegemony.

And in general - Russia do not capturing, but returns the Russian land illegally seized in 1991. Crimea - is only the beginning of the reunification process.

@ Genesis Tibet's population as a whole is 3 million, 90% Tibetans. The CPC could alter this in months by flooding Tibet with Han. Same with Xinjiang Han population is going to be majority by 2020. This isn't about Xinjiang or Xizang it's about Taipei. If the US or European Union won't recognize Crimea's vote it would be hypocrisy they do for Taipei in case the situation.

Well Crimea is a totally different situation compared with TW. For one almost every citizen in Crimea votes for unification with Russia and that's not the case with TW. For our unification either we really have to force the process on our brothers in the future or when time comes an invasion by the PLA is the only way for the island to return back to Mainland. We'll make sure the US won't intervene if Taiwan refuses a peaceful return.

There's a lot of talk of precedent, my piece is specifically promoting the idea of precedent does' t mean anything if you think about it.

America has set every precedent in the world from free rides on drunk girls to raping countries for fun.

How is US invading Saddam and Afgan worse than Saddam invading Kuwait.

Now to Crimea, it's clear US want to but can't do much, they set the precedent of doing something in a situation like this and yet they are not.

Power reign supreme, and any idea that Crimea will help China is equally absurd as Crimea will harm China.
