The Soviet Afghan War - Many Pakistanis consider that to be a moment where Pakistan defeated USSR and which supposedly led to the breakup of the USSR. Lets first study and see if that is true. Secondly, who was the real loser in the war, please read the following article to see the huge blunder the war was and how Pakistan is still paying its cost till today and will continue to pay in the future. The USSR might have collapsed but it also laid the foundation for what Pakistan has become today.

Please read the whole document before you comment, specially part 3.

FYI - the writer is also a Pakistani.

Thanks , it is a good article .

A few things stand out about Pakistan and these are common across decades of its existence.

The ability of the PA to convince the populace of it being the national saviour and the gullibility of the people of Pak to swallow it - always.

The absence of transparency and audit of expenses, national policy & governence.

So long as these two remain Pak shall always be fooled by those at the helm that ' all is well' and what ever is happening is the best that could have been done.

The Af eposode falls in line with the above opinion. Part 3 is accurate in its assessment .

Steriods give the temporary feeling of well being but leave harmful side effects - these are being experienced by Pak for the last decade.

biased views,
PAKISTAN is facing troubles due to many other reasons, we are a resilient nation and surely would manage it.
it is foolish to compare USSR with PAKISTAN.
other thing many agencies are trying fish in trouble waters, once we find a stable government that can hold the national fabric, soon there would be an end to dirty game of foreign agencies in PAKISTAN.
