The army top brass reviewed criticism on the military institution, besides discussing former military ruler Pervez Musharraf’s matter, border security situation and the ongoing dialogue with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, including the post dialogue situation in the country.

The forum also comprehensively reviewed Pak Army’s large scale involvement on security, development and rehabilitation works in various parts of the country.

The COAS commended the efforts despite serious security and administrative challenges.

Corps commanders, principal staff officers (PSOs), general officers commanding (GOCs) and concerned senior officials would be in attendance the conference.

What about the Pak government's so called peace talks with the TTP? The Army must be really pissed off that they are not being allowed a free hand to deal with the terrorists who might be using the 'ceasefire' for regrouping and planning offensive strategies. The more the delay, the tougher it's going to get.

There are a total of 53 Cantonments in Pakistan as of 2013.
The demographic character of most cantonments has changed and they are no longer primarily "garrison" areas and include significant civilian populations and private businesses.

GOC is head of a Cantonment. He is a Major General. (This is only in pure garrison cantonments only)

Lt. Generals serving are 26. (wiki)
