So what does your study say, Are there any chances of re-infection as well, till the time vaccine is not discovered?

So far as we know it's acting like influenza (common cold) that it gets out of the body after complete recovery. But viruses are not black and white. They have different strains, say they act different from each other in simple terms. So a different strain can re-infect you as is the case with flu. For some viruses our body develop immunity for a longer period of time, for some it don't again e.g. in common cold, each year people keeps getting it again and again. So it all depends on how it eventually act, the thing is viruses mutate and change themselves a bit; and can re-infect you. But imo getting re-infection from covid-19 after complete recovery, if it's acting like say flu, would be unlikely. Unless you get re-infected by a different strain.

For some they stay dormant in your cells, and gets active when they want to e.g. herpes simplex virus (cold sore).

Influenza can be stopped through Vaccine shot. And the vaccine actually contains different types of influenza dead or very weak live influenza viruses. And the body creates enough antibodies to be safe for 1 year. Watch from 04:10.

Indeed, for longer term I meant for years e.g hep B, A. Immunization for flu is short term, a year or so as told in the video and each year one have to re-vaccinated again.

@Malghani

Coronavirus Outbreak
Pakistan Seals Borders, Shuts Schools, Bans Public Events Over Coronavirus

A man wears a protective mask as a preventive measure amid coronavirus fears, as he attends Friday prayers with others in Karachi, Pakistan, March 13, 2020.

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan moved Friday to temporarily seal borders with Iran and Afghanistan, close all educational institutions and ban large gatherings at public places for three weeks, including wedding parties, to prevent the coronavirus pandemic from spreading in the region.

The preventative measures were announced on a day when officials raised to 28 the national tally of people infected with the virus. Pakistan, with a population of more than 200 million, has reported no fatalities since detecting its first confirmed case late last month.

State Minister of Health Zafar Mirza said that all of Pakistan’s cases were imported by its nationals returning from countries, including Iran, Syria, China and the United Kingdom. He said there were no local transmissions of the virus as of Friday.

Syrian authorities, however, are reported to have denied the presence of coronavirus on their soil, saying dozens of suspected cases have tested negative.

Dr. Zafar Mirza, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health, speaks to reporters in Quetta, Pakistan, Feb. 26, 2020.
Emergency meeting

Mirza and other senior cabinet colleagues told a Friday night news conference that the decision to introduce emergency measures was taken at a meeting of the national security council chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan and attended by top civilian and military leaders.

“We are completely closing our western border with Iran and Afghanistan for all human and commercial traffic for two weeks,” Mirza said. The only overland border crossing with China will also remain closed for another two weeks for all traffic.

“This will allow us to boost existing screening systems at entry points there to prevent infected people from entering Pakistan,” Mirza said, adding the decision would be reviewed after two weeks.

Pakistan shares a roughly 900-kilometer border with Iran, where officials have confirmed that COVID-19 has killed more than 500 people and that well over 10,000 others have been infected.

Pakistan’s border with landlocked Afghanistan stretches to nearly 2,600 kilometers, with several authorized entry points for people and trade as well as transit activities. Afghan officials have confirmed seven coronavirus cases, linking them with the Iranian outbreak

Mirza said Pakistan also decided to restrict outgoing and incoming international flights to only three airports in the country, in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, saying screening measures at those airports would be reinforced immediately.

Pakistan’s air links with Iran and China, where the coronavirus outbreak originated, remain suspended in the wake of the outbreak in both countries.

Schools closed, gatherings banned

Mirza said public and private schools as well as technical institutions across Pakistan would remain closed for three weeks. All public gatherings will be banned, including wedding halls and cinemas, for two weeks.

Pakistan’s chief justices are being requested to instruct all courts not to schedule cases for three weeks, and no visitors will be allowed to visit prisoners in jails during this period, Mirza said.

Critics note that Pakistan, like other South Asian countries, is ill-equipped to deal with a large-scale health emergency such as coronavirus because of a poor and deteriorating health infrastructure.

Army spokesman Major General Babar Iftikhar confirmed to VOA on Friday that the annual national day military parade scheduled for March 23, where thousands of guests are invited, had also been canceled.

Organizers of Pakistan’s largest national cricket competition, which features prominent international players, also shortened and closed its remaining matches to spectators. Many foreign players have opted to leave Pakistan.

The immune cells after exposure to a certain virus or bacteria develops memory and convert in to memory cells (t and b) won't go in to detail, will become too scientific. But in case body is again attacked by pathogens, the memory cells have the information already and they know what's attacking and how to combat.

From human immunity point of view; unless it's not disabling and chronic. The proverb "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" actually applies.

Covid-19 Has so far two Confirmed Strains means you can get infected twice. It may have more so but so far available data doesnt suggests this. But if this virus is anything like Influenza we are in for a lot of trouble. If it develops Antigenic shifts and Drifts as in influenza. Corona is here to stay and new strains will develop every year. Vaccines only work for the known strains any new mutation will make the one time vaccine ineffective. Means you will have to get a vaccine every time a new strain develops.

In Sindh, prisoners paroled amid coronavirus fears

KARACHI: As many as seven prisoners were released on parole from jails across the province on Saturday, following the announcement by Sindh Prisons IG Nusrat Hussain Mangan to reduce sentences by two months amid coronavirus fears.

Five of the prisoners were released from two prisons in Karachi, while two were released from prisons in Hyderabad. Mangan had taken the decision under Section 215 of the Prisons Rule to reduce the risk of coronavirus outbreak.

According to Mangan, a total of 2,692 prisoners in Sindh’s jails would benefit from the decision. Further preventive measures, such as spraying disinfectants, will also be taken in order to lower the risk of a potential outbreak.
