Coping with the twin shocks of inflation and depleting forex reserves

....Why do not you get the hell out of our forum?....

This is not your forum. This belongs to the Pakistani founders of PDF. Who are you to tell me to leave the forum. If the Pakistani moderators do, then that is a different matter.

@Imran Khan

IK sb,

Sadly this is not the story of the entire third world, not just BD.

Regards

Pakistanis are very interested in finding out these day which country is doing bad economically, which one is running out of dollars, which one is impacted by inflation and which one is likely to default.

লেজ কাটা শিয়াল আরো সঙ্গী-সাথী চায়। তা না হলে বড্ড একা একা লাগে।

What's going on Khansaab - you are normally a very wise person.

You are surely aware that Pakistan itself is going through a forex reserve crisis, an inflation crisis and currency depreciation through the floor. Most likely Pakistan will default if not go bankrupt in 2023.

I'm not sure why you have become so embroiled in the BD economy of late - you will find no comfort in BD problems.

Unfortunately for Pakistan, your internal problems have happened exactly at the wrong time. If you had been more organised and disciplined you may have seen off a global recession. That is exactly what BD is trying to do - so you should be applauding it really.

See my post above for an explanation. @EasyNow

Do you think Bangladesh is UK? UKs economy is robust and Bangladeshs economy is fragile. Prices hike cuts very deep here...

UK economy is robust ?!? It's going through a cost of living crisis that will go down in the history books, record number of their citizens live off food banks and handouts and an economic down slump is on the cards.

Pakistan is getting lonely in the bankruptcy league. He wants Bangladesh to join them 🤣🤣🤣

We broke away from Pakistan because we didn’t want to go bankrupt 🤣🤣🤣

Like they say one's company (Atomistan ala West Bangladesh), two's a crowd (Sri loanka) and three's a party (East Bangladesh)

Can't fault the poor fellow for wanting to make friends and party, maybe for once some controlled explosions, booms and pyrotechnics :D

Yes. Any doubt? UKs talented people's don't dream to fly away from it. UK attracts talented people from around the world.

Sir where I live almost everyone has a direct family member in UK. I would know if UKs economy is as bad as you described.

Because of covid and recent energy crisis UKs economy is suffering. But, they will still maintain HDI quality we dream...

Prices hike cuts o_O o_O o_O o_O o_O
You know what I meant...

The fact that the UK economy is in stress is undeniable regardless of what your relatives tell or otherwise, it's possible they are maybe not affected by it, good for them but the pound has weakened and that is irrefutable.

They developed their country (quite literally) with plundered colonial riches, they're not some land of milk and honey that we should be comparing our poor country with in any case...

Development doesn't happen overnight or easily, If you want to do it the right way, just look at what China and the Chinese people had to go through to get where they are today... and no we're not on the right path yet but I do believe we will get there eventually, when and how is up for debate.

Bangladesh is a poor country that is being hit with COVID crisis and now affects of the Russo-Ukranian/NATO proxy war, it is only logical for the country to go through some difficulties considering the current situation. BNP wouldn't have handled this situation any better to be fair, just when we were recovering from the COVID crisis, BD was hit with yet another crisis, it is unfair but it is what it is.

Finger pointing at the GoB will hardly solve our woes, parties across the political spectrum should come together to get us through this testing time instead, unfortunately that won't happen because the opposition is busy misattributing this crisis to BAL failings, in a shameful attempt at scoring brownie points with uninformed masses right before the national elections which they won't win anyway given they don't have a "leader" present in Bangladesh who has any substansial political power.

Just look at the paid BNP goons here posting Pinaki 'bhua doctor' Chakraborty's propaganda here... it's funny all the know it alls are foreign passport holders enjoying their lives abroad while telling us why BNP would have done a better job.

I point my finger at problems Bangladesh and its citizens face and our government shamelessly denies! I don't care about BNP or BAL.

Bangladesh has problems, our problems will not solve or find workarounds by themselves. If we don't recognize that we have problems then there is nothing to fix! Our government is doing exactly that...

I agree with you, more than you'd care to believe.
