This leopard shouldn't have changed its spot.
The big cat was shot dead by a cop in the small Indian town of Karad after it strayed from its jungle home and attacked six people.
Startled by cops' and townspeople's attempts to scare it away, the beast went on a mauling rampage Sunday and had latched onto its sixth victim when Officer Vikas Dhas rushed in, the Mumbai Mirror reported.
"The leopard was on his chest as I closed in on the scene," Dhas told the Mirror. "It growled at me once and grabbed the victim's neck. That's when I whipped out my service revolver and shot the leopard close to its chest."
The officer had hoped he could spare the animal's life.
"The only thought that crossed my mind as I pointed my gun at it was to save that man," he said. "I didn't want to kill the leopard."

Nice work by cop...

Another case of ecological problems.
Human's encroaching on nature..
I suppose a search for more leopards was done later.. to move them to a preserve.
The poor cop really had no choice.. save a life.. or take one.. own species comes first.

It is increasing day by day in India..

Leopards coming into the villages and attacking people. A lot of people are living on the edge in several villages across India. The forest department used to bring a cage to catch the animal and once they catch the cat, the used to free him in the thick jungle but killing an animal is very rare.

There is a one instant where people hurled themselves into the leopard and killed it once it came in a town in southern state of India, Kerala.
