WASHINGTON: The US Department of Defence has awarded a $57 million contract to Bell Helicopter to provide Ah-1Z Viper attack helicopters to Pakistan.
The deal is part of a larger $581 million contract, most of which goes to the US Navy. The contract covers the manufacture and delivery of 15 Lot 12 UH-1Y Venom utility helicopters, 19 Lot 12 AH-1Zs, one Lot 13 UH-1Y, and 21 auxiliary fuel kits for the government of Pakistan. Some of these initial helicopters will be delivered by the end of August 2018.

Although Pakistan had requested the sale of 15 AH-1Z helicopters in April, it is not clear how many of the 15 helicopters have been signed for at this stage.

A notification by the US Department of Defence stated that 10 per cent ($57.9 million) of the overall contract value covered the sale to the government of Pakistan which suggests that this is an initial deal for the first two helicopters only, with contracts for the remaining 13 (plus spares and support) to follow.

The original US Defence Security Cooperation Agency notification of Pakistan’s request included 1,000 AGM-114 Hellfire II air-to-surface missiles for “a precision-strike, enhanced-survivability aircraft that can operate at high altitudes”.

The AH-1Z and Hellfire II capability will enhance Pakistan’s capability to conduct all-weather, day and night operations in remote mountainous areas.

Recently, Pakistan also signed an agreement with Russia to purchase MI-35 ‘Hind’ attack helicopters.

2. Pakistan will receive new units fresh from the factory and tailor made to Pakistan's requirement.

Here is the original article:
DoD awards Pakistan AH-1Z contract

The US Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded Bell Helicopter a USD581 million contract that includes the delivery of AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters to Pakistan.

The contract, which was announced by the DoD on 26 August but awarded the day before, covers the manufacture and delivery of 15 Lot 12 UH-1Y Venom utility helicopters, 19 Lot 12 AH-1Zs, one Lot 13 UH-1Y, and 21 auxiliary fuel kits for the US Marine Corps (USMC) and government of Pakistan.

Pakistan requested the sale of 15 AH-1Z helicopters in April, and this announcement is the first official confirmation that a deal has been signed. While the notification does not say how many of the 15 helicopters have been signed for at this stage, it states that 10% (USD57.9 million) of the overall contract value covers the sale to the government of Pakistan. This suggests that this is an initial deal for the first two helicopters only, with contracts for the remaining 13 (plus spares and support) to follow.

According to the DoD, these initial helicopters will be delivered by the end of August 2018. The original US Defense Security Co-operation Agency notification of Pakistan's request included 1,000 AGM-114 Hellfire II air-to-surface missiles for "a precision-strike, enhanced-survivability aircraft that can operate at high altitudes. By acquiring this [AH-1Z and Hellfire II] capability, Pakistan will enhance its ability to conduct operations in North Waziristan Agency [NWA], the Federally Administered Tribal Areas [FATAs], and other remote and mountainous areas in all-weather, day and night environments".

The contract notification is the latest development in Pakistan's ongoing efforts to bolster its rotary-winged attack capabilities. As well as procuring the 15 AH-1Zs to bolster and eventually replace its existing 32 AH-1F Cobra platforms, Pakistan has also evaluated the Chinese CHAIG WZ-10 attack helicopters, which has included flying them operationally on counter-terrorism missions, and is rumoured to be interested in the Russian-built Mil Mi-28NE 'Havoc' as well. On 19 August it was announced that Pakistan and Russia had signed a formal agreement for the procurement of four Mi-35 'Hind' attack helicopters, with more likely to follow.

AS the information marked in red, which have been edited in the article by DAWN, posted by @HAIDER , the helicopters mentioned in the report are for USMC and PAA. We will be getting the 15 AH-1Z that have been confirmed and the rest is all for USMC. There are no TWO KINDS coming.

NO NEED TO SPREAD MISS INFORMATION. DAWN News have conveniently edited the paragraph i marked as bold just to creat some hype. This is a prime example of how they make us fool. Supid bull shit reporting at work!

Also this is some 5th thread on the same topic so it is best to merge this,

@Slav Defence @WebMaster @Irfan Baloch @waz @Horus can you people please close this thread, As it is miss leading. Also since the posts in the closed thread will surely motivate others to post similar thread, i request that the posts claiming/debating the induction of UH-1Y be deleted and that it is made clear that DAWN have published an article in which they purposely twisted the facts/story to make us believe in something that is as far from reality as it gets.

This is how our media lead us like a clueless heard, all the did was edited one single paragraph, three lines and see how different the entire story is now.

The US marines inducted their first batch of AH1Z's in 2011.

They are as latest as they come.

Have you even read my post and the article that i posted? what i was saying? I never blamed you dear!

Check the DAWN news article and compare it with the Janes article. You will see that everything is copied apart from that one bold paragraph in my post, that is what makes all the difference. Instead of 15 AH-1z we end up getting a dozen of other helicopters and we end up having pages and pages of debate and discussion on things that are not real and just some twisted bull shit reporting.
I have read the DAWN article already, you can see that it was edited (not by you, by the stupid newspaper)
