‘Constitutional’ reforms finalised: GB likely to have place in Senate, NA shortly

Youre from GB. Whats your opinion?
GB is a small area and has been ignored for a long long time, this is a much needed step as the people of GB have been demanding such political and constitutional rights for years now. With CPEC passing through, the value of GB has risen the govt has to satisfy or it may create a strong sense of deprivation. A sense of deprivation in Gilgitis would a massive blunder as the people are very pro-Pakistan and pro-pak army.
In a larger picture this will not affect the Kashmir cause in anyway, an ordinary Gilgiti just wants to be recognized as a 'Pakistani' and wants to participate in the general elections. At least that's how i feel. We should not sacrifice our basic rights in the name of Kashmir cause. India has run a campaign on lack of rights in GB too.

.
Im hearing Gilgit and Baltistan as two provinces in the future.

Trust me on this, i have very strong sources...I had given this news before about GB getting seats in NA and Senate. In future we will see GB as a province, won't be divided into Baltistan and Gilgit. Might as well divide the Ismailis and give them a province. Gilgitis and Baltis and many other groups, including Hunzik, waki people and etc are very united and live among themselves. The government will never make a mistake by separating them. And it's not like GB is a big administrative unit that needs to be divided.

Regarding Ismalis during zia u haq time the intelligence agencies had created a portfolio and were very worried about a separate ismaili state being created.:cheesy: but when zia heard this he was very furious and demand an explanation on who did this investigation

Honestly speaking i find Ismailis to be very patriotic bunch, hard working, educated.

Arey we do play Cricket but it is expensive, it would be a crime hitting a shot on the offside or on the on side, well in Hunza you have a Polo ground where folks try playing Cricket but they probably loose 4-5 balls per day. How the heck do we play Cricket here?

We do play Cricket in Hunza, Gilgit and Yasin. Gilgit is good because we have central park large space for Cricket. You have a river on one side in Yasin, tough to play Cricket.
People prefer playing Football and old sports coming down the family line.
Polo on top of Yaks.
And we eat the poor guy in winters.

Well one thing's for sure you guys must produce world class endurance athletes; maybe the government ought to consider focusing on cultivating talent for those endurance based triathlons. :)

On a side note - What would you say to the idea of having every federating unit of Pakistan being internally fully autonomous as if they were their own countries but with things like the foreign policy, defense, state bank etc. being handled by the centre. And that every federating unit having the same directly elected representation in the senate with the President and the Vice President being elected by the Senate and we do away with the National Assembly and the Prime Ministership.

back in my old house every month we would lose one tennis ball while practicing because it would always fall into the cliff.

Well my village has a story of how our village founder played polo on yak againts the chinese ( Krigz tribe )who were using horses for the control over the land
also bears, snow leopards are scared of them thats why we call them the tanks of karakuram because they can rip your gut out if they get angry.

Not a bad idea considering countries smaller than Pakistan and less resourceful than Pakistan are doing much better in every field. I don't think it would work in Pakistan's case, the political system is not mature enough neither are the people. Plus it might even challenge the very purpose Pakistan was made for.
If you are saying having a status like the one AJK or GB has, might work.

No I'm saying more like the American model of states with their own Governors and legislatures who've got a lot of power to do what they want to do within their own states as per the wishes of their own people. I think Pakistan will be strengthened if we allow people to choose things for themselves instead of imposing anything on them from the center. If the Baluchistan Assembly is ultimately responsible for the welfare of Baluchistan as they see fit and the people know that is the case then who's gonna blame the Army, the Punjabi establishment, the Leprechauns, if things don't work out in Baluchistan?

That could work, not a bad idea. But aren't the provinces strong enough know? don't they have control over most of the provincial matters? maybe some constitutional changes need to be made to fix the current system?
