For the average bigot American, brown is considered anything not white or black.

So Arabs, Indians, Pakistanis etc etc are all grouped into one. Most have no concept of Hinduism. They think everyone brown is Muslim.

They are unable to tell the difference between a Hindu Indian to a Muslim Arab.

They think Pakistan is part of the middle east.

I have met a few of those types. They're from the south of US. Really loony types. That's why I said; it was weird to find these types in Washington DC.

Though swastika is not an offensive symbol for either the Hindus or us (it is actually the opposite of what Nazis made it out to be), the intention behind the graffitti was wrong.
