What's new

Congress approves bill to allow 9/11 families to sue Saudi Arabia

It sets a precedent, what don't you understand about "precedent".

Are you stupid, or do you just pretend to not read and understand other people's comment?

I'm done here.

So now out of desperation you've resort to insults and giving neg ref? @Slav Defence can you please check this thread and keep an eye on this guy? He has given me a neg ref for no reason and he even insulted me.

This is what you said:

No they can't, they CAN NOT. They can sue individuals and corporations, BUT NOT GOVERNMENTS.

Now that this was utterly debunked you claim:

It sets a precedent, what don't you understand about "precedent"

How on earth does that support your original statement?:rofl:

.
It seems the 2/3rd majority could be met making the bill veto proof preventing Obama saving his terrorist partners in al saud.
Oussama Bin laden also was Saudi and trained (apparently) by the CIA.. was he approved or his Qaeda by the Sauds? no, he had to leave SA and live in Yemen, Those 15 Saudis implicated in 9/11 were most probably Qaeda members and had nothing to do with Saudi Arabia governement , the latter has been innocented by Top CIA directors! Any law suits will be nulled by the courts even the supreme court, since the Government of SA has already been found innocent, be it by the CIA, the President or by the latest 28 top secret documents just released to public.. So the question is what is the point of all this congressional drama?

Yes, @Slav Defence , keep an eye on me. In fact, let's invite more people.

@waz @WAJsal @Oscar @Horus @WebMaster @Manticore @Irfan Baloch

I'm tired of this. Your negative rating was given to you, because you've contributed nothing to this thread, other than saying 'you're wrong', and refusing to debate properly. You've done nothing but present low quality posts.

When you made a claim, and I debunked you using evidence, you proceeded to ignore it and continue with your ridiculous argument.

I'm done with you.

I have opened a thread in GHQ section over this. You not only gave me a neg ref for no reason at all but you also insulted me.

I said your theory of Iraqis, Afghanis etc suing US makes no sense because they can sue US right now even without this bill. You replied by saying:

"No they can't, they CAN NOT. They can sue individuals and corporations, BUT NOT GOVERNMENTS."

Then I tried to educate you by saying this bill has nothing with the ability of non Americans to sue US but then you started insulting me etc. Your arguments make no sense and you clearly don't have much understanding with regards to this bill.

If anyone is not contributing to this thread, then clearly it is not me.

The House has approved a bipartisan bill that would allow families of September 11 victims to sue the government of Saudi Arabia.

The measure was approved by voice vote on Friday.

Passage of the legislation puts Congress on a collision course with Barack Obama on the eve of the 15th anniversary of the attacks.

The Senate passed the bill in May by voice vote despite vehement objections from Saudi Arabia, a key US ally in the Middle East.

Fifteen of the 19 hijackers from 9/11 were Saudi nationals.

The White House has signaled that Obama would veto the legislation over concerns about exposing Americans overseas to legal risks.

The Obama administration cautions that if US citizens can take the Saudis to court, then a foreign country could in turn sue the United States.

dangerous path
because this can men people of other countries can also sue America which is the biggest contributor to violence across the globe,
Obama is smart enough to know that and said it will set a wrong trend which will hurt USA

THANK YOU! I doubt he'll listen though. He doesn't seem to care about facts.

I understand, but those people can sue us right now. Whether it will encourage them is another matter. It begs the questions, why isn't there much suing being done right now by Iraqis, Afghanis etc?

No, YOU don't seem to care about facts because you think Iraqis and afghanis cannot sue US right now. As you shown in post 29.

the defendant is the judge , jury and executioner. it is just like the sham of the security council veto where the culprit country which happens to be a permanent member can simply veto anything against it

Exactly bro, and this bill will not change that!

I dont know how they can do that. maybe some freelance American based lawyers can pick up their case and represent them but I don't expect any justice its just personal opinion

it is just like I dont expect any justice for the 9/11 victims.. Saudis are not just responsible for 9/11 .. currently they are bombing Yemen while me and you look the other way. their atrocities are no less than (if not more than ) Asad regime.

It seems I need to explain this simple fact to you AGAIN. This bill has nothing to do with the ability of Iraqis and Afghanis to sue US. Why is this so hard for you to understand? This bill is about AMERICANS being able to sue foreign governments. Get it now? Or do I need to explain it another 50 times? :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

I would not put anything past these Americans, remember they even took Iranian money over 9/11 . They could easily do the same to saudis. It all depends what happens to this bill.

Did you EVEN WATCH @Irfan Baloch 's video? OBAMA HIMSELF SAYS THAT THIS WOULD SET A NEGATIVE PRECEDENT! WATCH THE DAMN VIDEO! HE FUCKING EXPLAINS IT HIMSELF! THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SAYS THE EXACT THING I'M SAYING!

You really are just trolling? You say they CANNOT sue, there is big different between not being able to sue and giving precedent which means it may encourage suing of the US. There is big difference here. You keep saying they CANNOT sue. Why on earth is this so hard for you to understand? Do you not understand the meaning of precedent?

Well I think you have overlooked the fact that Either Iraq or Afghanistan or other countries need to pass a similar bill to become law in their respective countries before their citizens can sue the US governement , and that is what this American bill may entice if passed and adopted as a law..
