Testosterone comes from cholesterol either through the delta4 or the delta5 pathway I would wirte the details of it but I think this covers your question.

See those dotted arrows. They mean there are intermediate steps and those are not shown because the purpose of the diagram is steroidogenesis and not cholesterol synthesis. See the context.

Sir in fact both estrogen and testosterone are derivatives of cholesterol.

I think what you heard is about fat men being less inclined to activities usually attributed to testosterone. That is reportedly true, due to processes that convert body fat into estrogen. Testosterone, if I can remember, is simply oxidized estrogen (a -OH- replaced by an =O), or the other way around, and it latches on to fat molecules in certain abdominal(?) areas and gets oxidized.
