Commonwealth meet shifted to New York as Pakistan refuses to invite J&K speaker

CPA executive committee, which held a teleconference on Wednesday, showed “overwhelming support” for India’s decision. It was decided that Pakistan had violated the CPA constitution by not inviting an eligible member — in this case, the J&K Speaker — and the conference stood cancelled. Sources said 27 of the 28 members had the view that the venue of the meeting should be changed, unless Pakistan reversed its decision.

Probably there are inherent differences in our perceptions and the way we organize our thoughts.

For me, any forum, that gives me an opportunity to interact with people whom, otherwise I don't get to meet and talk to regularly, is important. It is all about keeping your options open. It has got nothing to do with the history of the forum, for dwelling on that is a waste of time. However, nothing stops one from interacting with the representatives from, say Rwanda or Kenya and talk about a few mutual interests.

The World is biased, that's a reality, I get it. But, if the cards are played right, then at times, it can be biased in my favour too.
Anyway, to each his own. :)
I would argue that the commonwealth forum brings nothing new. It doesn't provide a new platform for talks, nor a better one.
