CM, Korean delegation discuss BRTS

Lahore—A Korean delegation called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Saturday and discussed Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) project.

Talking to the delegation, Shahbaz Sharif said that provision of quality transport facilities to the people was priority of the government and solid steps were being taken in this regard.

He said that local and foreign investors were being encouraged for investment in transport sector adding “The BRTS project is of great importance and we want its early completion.”

He said that this project would be completed in a most transparent manner and bureaucracy would not be allowed to create hindrance.

Khawaja Ahmed Hasaan, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Transport, Director Green Pakor Pvt. Ltd. Ms. Sharon Kim and other officials concerned with the BRTS project were present on this occasion.—APP
 
Lahore Rapid Transit was actually going to be a reality until the floods happened. They were really serious about it.
 
As someone who lives in a city suffering because of BRTS, I warn you guys to conduct a full DPR as well as economic analysis before any such projects.

BRTS can be quite painful if the road itself has a total of 3 lanes or less.

There are both good and bad BRT projects running in India.

BRT is not for a very big metropolitan city like Delhi but its running successfully in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan have to decide what suits its specific needs.

I will post pics of BRTs to make things clear in next post.
 
The worst BRTS example is Delhi BRTS.

In Delhi its causing lots of problem of traffics jams. :hitwall:
