There is never any real accountability with any institution of Pakistan. Let's be honest, there was never really a ban, just a small protest for a short period of time. People were still able to access Bollywood movies.

It's not about Pakistani public not wanting to view Pakistani made films it's about continuous production of films to keep the audiences occupied. Unfortunatly Pak films can never compete with Bollywood due to its very limited funding and financing. Even Nigeria (Nollywood) has a much larger film industry than Pakistan.

Exactly there was only 6 pakistani films released in 2016 and what will theatres will do rest of the day, when they invested heavily !

Exactly there was only 6 pakistani films released in 2016 and what will theatres will do rest of the day, when they invested heavily !

To compete with Bollywood, Pak film industry would have to release atleast 3 films every month. It can't do it. However were there is a void in the film industry the drama serials seem to be doing very well.

Last bollywood film I saw was a part of was PK. Was funny when he made fun of the stupid bhartis. I honestly stopped watching bollywood since late 90's. On the occasion, I will watch bits and parts of some bollywood movies. Amir Khan's movies are the saving grace for bollywood.

I don't mind the odd comedy Bollywood movie, as long as it's clean. I completely avoid watching any film were Pakistanis are brought into the scenario as always we are portrayed as the evil bad country plotting to destroy india.

Should've delayed the lifting of this ban a bit more but this proves that our film industry definitely needs more time, more public awareness and more quality content InshAllah one day our films will be able to conquer the cinemas.

Why is that?

I like to watch Pakistani dramas, films on the occasion, but overall I prefer reading. Whether it be technical, scientific,or novels in book form.

More delay means , these theatres will be closed and converted to some conference hall, marriage function etc, which eventually destroy pakistani film industry

If you want quality movies from bollywood, stop looking at the star cast. Plenty of good movies are being made here, but you have to look beyond the big brands.

It becomes increasingly boring watching the crying woman in almost every Pak drama who is going through a flurry of emotions due to love and marriage. Pak dramas need better storylines. Guys when your married the Mrs will always have first priority over the remote control and your stuck watching the dramas. Haha

I've always heard that the Punjabi movie industry was more developed in Pakistan than in East Punjab but seems like there are not many people who watch Punjabi movies?
