The only point that was clear is that you are unclear about basics such as close air support missions undertaken, sortie rate , losses per sortie , etc.

In simple terms , fighter jets that don't take off cannot be shot down by the Indian Air Force or the Indian Army .

Fighter jets that choose the safety of their hangars will certainly look better on paper ( till you compare sortie rates ).

Airpower in 1971 was used by the IAF for the critical mission of reinforcing ground forces with firepower from the air. Their jets were relentless and on the attack constantly. The key is this , when you compare numbers on paper.

Again, to use an example that you might understand the overall picture better : an opening batsman scores a century while the rest of the team gets out for a duck will still lead to a total loss. Yet here you & your ilk are gloating only about the "opening batsman". You have completely forgotten the other 90,000 in your team who went out for a duck, and also lost the 60% of your 'cricket ground'.

jumping around sortie rates and speculating about what "could've" been the tally had the PAF been as wack as it's counterpart in operations does not change anything. you can drag in the strategic conclusion whenever you like to divert the flak. glad that none from your side could refute the figures/tally. should be gracious that other figures aren't touched - that'd expose a lot hidden behind the now-pointless strategic victories of our neighbour. apologies if i sound rude - not feeling well at the moment

To put it simply, as per Indian claims Wing Commander Sajjad Haider was shot 4 times in different days and then he was seen being interviewed by BBC. But that is fair coming from India given the history of false claims & making noise. While internet sena is busy in trolling here, the real thing is happening in LeH etc though, PAF proven the mettle once again during Operation Swift Retort whereby IAF came with every excuse of like turn around time of AWACs or Mirages Radar Issue or Sukhoi been awarded with AMRAAM dodgers trophies or Abhinandan going blind & deaf yet IAF shot down their own Heli in panic. Well, honestly every outcome tells a lot of history of a force that is always conqueror in the movies.

Nope. Civilians have been taken as PoWs throughout wars.

Family and staff can't be PoWs. Only people in the armed forces can - both combatants and non combatants.

Most of Indian losses were to ground fire , since after a few days India had complete control of the skies over Pakistan. Interdiction for ground support is risky as the old style didnt have high altitude bombing.
This year will be the 50th anniversary of the Indian victory, wonder whether Bangladesh has any major celebrations planned ?

they had limited control of the skies of east Pakistan, where ur whole eastern command was up against just one solitary PAF squadron and even then iaf did not have the balls to come and fight during the day.

that sole sqd fought till the runway became unusable and even then the ac were used to fire from stationary positions. u still could not destroy the ac as they were destroyed by the ground crews so that they don't fall into enemy hands.

the situation was completely different in the western sector where ur ac were falling like flies and the kill ratio says it all.
