Sorry , but if you knew anything about demography , you would know that "survey" aren't a good source of information...
"Research on demographics" of a particular group is better one.... In 2011 , researchers conducted a detailed research across U.S.A to find the number of Muslims... They counted number of followers present IN the mosques on EID day (Biggest Islamic festival) ... The number came out to be somewhere around 2.6 million... The standard procedure is that you "multiply" attending followers' number by 3 because atmost--1/3 of population attends the event and is " at religious centers" during huge festivals of any culture.... But since I live here and I know that Muslims are WAY more practicing by "Western Standards" ...So I'll multiply this number by 2 and not 3....hence it is easily established that number of Muslims in the U.S.A is somewhere around 5 million strong!
Just so you know --- I have studied some "demographics" (as Stats' sub set) ... I know what I'm talking about...
