Why does it disturb you ?

You mean only the groups associated with the religion of the majority should be criticized in India in the name of blind secularism.

well, i am socialist, so above all the nationalistic and religious quarrels on this forum and outside of it.

i am the fiercest critic of modern indian muslims, who spend their years in "pious-ness", prayers and rituals... essentially, they have become hindu... which is why the post-1947 indian muslim hasn't produced great leaders like nasser or gaddafi or hugo chavez or castro or putin... in fact, the modern indian "prayer-ful" muslim is what iqbal spoke against a hundred years ago.

as to christians in india, of late, they have done alliances with groups like bajrang dal and ram sena... but quite often they have come to regret that.

but our indrani... she tends to create unnecessary angers... that is what i was talking of.

using this forum, we should work towards a post-money post-religion future... which is a far more happier and hopeful thought, you will agree, i think.

I was reading some history that during colonial time, British missionaries were involved in spreading anti-Hinduism and anti-North India sentiments in South India riding on Aryan Invasion theory.

You guys think too important of yourself.. South Never cared about north till we were told to learn hindi

that's just one aspect of it. In the rural areas especially, if you are person who is repressed by the hierarchy what is the motivation of staying a Hindu?

Let Hindu orgnisations then win the hearts and minds by offering education, food and clothing too. Let the two organisations compete for generosity for the poor.

at least that way, amenities will be provided which the ruling class never cared to provide for in the first place.

Yup this is why govt should relinquish control of temples and all attached properties (and more importantly the revenues that come from it), even though there are some orgs that do work outside of it, the major share of cash comes from temple offerings.
This way temples can decide where they spend their income and create scholarships etc. Otherwise the environment is very unfair, other religions get minority status, and also massive funding from outside.

My point when we are open to criticize Brahmins, Hindu groups, and many of Hindu customs and then what's wrong when in criticizing other groups from other religions, you mean under India's secularism only the groups related to religion of them majority(Hindus) should be criticized. You forgetting that Europeans themselves criticize the Church.

What's wrong choosing another religions... We have our own choice... Unless there is own forced conversion.. No body got right to accuse any one.. Some Russians and other nationals are converting to Hindu.. Because they liked it... Every one preach about own religion..

Why dragging Hindi, I was just pointing how British missionaries during colonial era tried to use Aryan Invasion theory and hypothetical Aryan-Dravidian classification for their own interest.

self importance was evident by your statement.. You dont need bad publicity... and hinduism too as well, we had enough practices which were inhuman and part of hinduism and still hasnt been completely purged... im sure u read cleaning of temple after the CM of Bihar went there... I really dont understand why SC/ST ppl have not embraced buddha as ambedkar told them, they are going through so much stupidity even now...

good points... and as you know, i am not mujhaidind to become defensive when other religion people criticize indian muslims or some of the recent adoptions ( burqa ) of many modern muslims elsewhere... and you will see that like those europeans who criticize the church, i criticize the mullah types, in fact, utterly demean them... because in truth, islam has no church at all, no priest system.

so please do criticize... and i will discuss... hope you see my point.

Yes, who disputed discrimination under caste system but how is it related to my comment. I said North India because they were involved in spreading Hinduism being the religion of cunning North Indian Aryans imposed on Dravidians attacking Hinduism and North Indians simultaneously.

That's true, British were into Hindu vs Muslim, low caste vs high caste and North India vs South India to keep Indians divided and rule India with an ease. Out of which the first one Hindu vs Muslim bore fruits for British.

You should mind one thing madam... I liked Christianity so I choose it.. I can promise you one thing there are plenty pastors who come to church drunk.. Some of them visit houses in the name of prayers but they visit for money... You can't blame Christianity and other missionaries just because of some idiots ... Likewise Muslims... Christians don't pray to idols... Different religions different believes.. Nothing wrong to choose different religion...

Speak for yourself. There was no North-South division in India ever. Which Hindu from South will deny the sacredness of Ganga or Rishikesh or Mount Kailash?
