Chitral river - Kabul river

Why Pakistanis always behave in victim hood ... If India is cheating then you can go to international court of arbitration same you can do with Afghanistan .

Last time when you went to international court of Arbitrartion you lost the case for Kishan Ganga project :

Build a strong case on the basis of facts not on rhetorics and international community will hear you

.
first you need to build dams or what even to store water and not under utilising it and allowing the water flow into the sea
dear bro if we make exessive dams then indus delta will start to ascend as Indus recieves more wave energy in a day the Mississippi recieves in a year

His point of view became thread just another reason to hate Afghanistan and India. Wow. Hate nation you are. I can't belive some of the desperate willingness to hate India blame India. Afghans want to earn money by providing Pakistan & Iran water from the rivers flowing in from Central Asia via Afghanistan to Iran & Pakistan.

India is active building many dams in Afganistan, Only Kabul river flows into Pakistan from Afghanistan, but further norh chitral river is flowing into Afghanistan, which later becomes Kabul river further south, if Afghanistan build dam on Kabul river, Pakistan can turn the direction of river Swat further north so it dosent enter into Afghanistan. Infact this will hurt Afghanistan more.

While Iran will be seriously affected by this new afghan strategy/policy.

Afghanistan is building dams like any other sovereign state will do to meet its electricity and irrigation needs. All these will be done in a manner with all international obligations and treaties in mind.

Pakistan should help Afghan Talibans and throw Indian and NDS garbage out of Afghanistan and bring back the rightful and legitimate rulers back into power.

You also do realize that Afghanistan a strategic partner of the US and judging by your flag, you are either a US citizen or living there which makes a you hypocrite to to rally against an AF gov for Tali which is killing US soldiers.

Makes you think, no ?

Valid points but is there is anyone listening? :) Instead of blaming RAW, NDS, Mossad and CIA, it is high time that Pakistan looks inward.

On topic, AF is making these dams like any other country would do to prosper, that being said all these dams will be built keep in all international treaties in mind so that the side effects are not felt in the neighbouring countries.

Remember for us, it is not a zero sum game but one where the region develops as a whole.

/Peace

India is already VERY active building several dams in Afghanistan, also this idea of selling water is indian. Pakistan should have built dams and water reservoirs all over Pakistan, but this is not so important for the pakistani nation, instead building metro bus and orange train is more important , thanks to Pakistans traitor politicians.

India is voilating the indus water treaty from 1960 with building dams on all river. According to the treaty Indus, Jehlum and Chenab were given to Pakistan, while Sutlej, Ravi and Beas were given to India. But despite Indus water treaty India have built dams on all pakistani rivers.

So Pakistan have one more argument to go to war against India, as its not option to sit quite and watch.

Then why Pakistan doesn't quit IWT and go to international court for a more standard treaty to be formulated from scratch .. :coffee: as Indians too are not very happy with IWT and would like to have a treaty with global standards.

Afghanistan & Pakistan are different countries; provinces within Pakistan fight over water and opposition to Kalabagh dam is primarily because Sindhis believe that Punjabis will steal “Their water”. Water dispute is not limited to Pakistan; Karnataka & Tamil Nadu have been quarrelling over the Kaveri river water since 1970’s, There were riots in 1990’ over the interim share of water from Kaveri Dam in 1991. Things came to heads again in 2002. The case was finally decided by the Tribunal in 2007 but Karnataka was unhappy with the decision and filed an appeal against it. This is because water is a scarce resource and it could mean the difference between life & death in many instances.

Unfortunately, due to the geographical advantage; those who control upstream have the upper hand because they could dam the river and dry up the lower half. How often we have heard declaration by the dishonest politicians “Ayyub Khan sold our water to India” under the Indus water treaty. Pray tell me, if there was no treaty and India decided to dam all the rivers up stream, could Pakistan do anything short of going to war? And could Pakistanis get more water as a result than they are getting now?

River water in fact belongs equally to all the people who live along the river. Hence in case of dispute, third party arbitration is normally required. Afghanis have as much right to benefit from the Kabul river water as the people living along the Kabul River in the KPK.

Pakistan constructed Warsak Dam as early as 1960. Why should Afghanistan not construct one upstream, it is their river too? We have to accept that we would have to share Kabul river water sooner or later. Who gets how much to be decided by an independent UN sponsored tribunal.

Valid points and as I mentioned in my posts all these dams are being built keeping in mind international treaties and what not which is a common practice in the world.

Most of the Kabul River water flow comes from Chitral/Kunar river. If Kabul is interested in playing power games with regards to water they will lose. Equitable approach is the only way to go.

Before you divert Indus, war will break out.

Wese by Kashmir tum logo se wapas lena he, by doing this you people will quicken the process by enforcing war.

According to Indus water treaty India go the 3 soutern rivers Sutlej, Beas and Ravi. In addition to that India is building dams on 3 northern "pakistani rivers" of Indus, Jehlum and Chenab, not sure how the flow of water is in these rivers. I know that in rain season all rivers are full , when its floods in India. Sometime when India open the gates of the dams big portion of nortern Punjab of Pakistan is undeer water/flooded ....

Lol. We can build check dams that powers hydro projects. We can build as many hydro projects as we can. Cry a river. We cannot divert water. And that's it. But can use it in a way we see it. Infact IVT is detrimental to India's interest. In 1960, with Partition still new, with no new wars fought India generously signed an agreement with a "brother" Pakistan. Its a mistake.
