Chinese Viewers Can't Get Enough of Indian TV Shows

Buddhism itself influenced Chinese so much that I am not surprised that Chinese are attracted to Indian mythology

Haha i lol-ed n realised this article was merely a piece of 'bharati culture is superior' propaganda when i came to the part where it said shah ruk khan (whoever he is) is popular in Singapore.

That title of being 'popular' goes to some south korean star, hong kong actor/actress or taiwanese singer anytime of the day.

Then read original article from global times if you think its a propaganda
This.

The average singaporean knows way more about hollywood than bollywood.

As a kid, I use to watch a few bollywood movies/dramas on our cable tv which my sri lankan maid would discreetly tune into when she didnt had any chores to do.

I rem the shows were always full of ppl dancing sporadically around/behind trees and it(the endless dancing) bores me do much i would often doze off.

Those movies are for kids bollywood has changed since 2015

You've just reaffirmed the point im trying to make- that bollywood is not popular in Sinitic societies as shown by the example that any1 i know and I myself, ever know enough or am interested to know- how bollywood has changed or evolved over the decades. Its hardly even near the level of hollywood.

Hence, your intention in posting this article is merely propaganda(even the choice of wordings you used in the thread title hints of it) along the lines of 'indian soft culture is so powerful that even the chinese we hate, likes/admires it' <= lol.

Ofcourse the falseflaggers and usual trolls can't tell you this- but I can give you a first hand insight. Through student exchange I visited Shenyang and Beijing- and they do indeed love Bollywood. So much so they memorize and sing Hindi songs. not kidding. Amir Khan, Shahrukh and Deepika are the most popular bollywood stars from what I remember. The most watched and talked about movie being -3 idiots so much so that almost all young people in the cities have seen it. In fact when i meet young Chinese in the US even now - they talk about 3 idiots and Amir.

If this is the Indian s**t the Chinese watch then I am truly sorry for them. Most of them must be having such a low opinion of India based on these shows. I refuse to believe that Chinese shows can be any worse than these.

The sad part is, we have become defined by Bollywood and Saas-Bahu nonsense, whereas fact is that there is a lot of excellent Indie cinema in both Hindi as well as local languages. Same goes for China. They do make some excellent cinema, although they have become synonymous with weird Kung Fu/Wushu movies instead.

one of the best indian movies i like is from south india those epic fights scenes make me laugh soo much one time i saw a hero using a banana to fight a villain and stab him also i believe the robot movie was a great movie with and amazing story wayyy better than raone which came the same year.
but nowadays i belive all the movies have become crap with just the generic good guys saves girl from villas and then they sing bla bla bla. except movies like pk most movies are becoming crap

indian soaps are really cringy more like the dragon ball z episode where a 2 minute event is shown for like three episode and are really cringy .

I cant comment on whether Chinese are watching Indian serials or not but I seriously doubt Indians know Wuxia. This is the first time I am hearing about it.

There are thousands of Indians on PDF. These are people with internet connction and reasonable grasp of English. It means that they are very well familiar with the culture and programs outside India. I can openly challenge you and @rcrmj to start a poll on PDF among Indians to know what is Wuxia and if any of them have seen it or not

We are very familiar with Jakie Chan and Bruce Lee - propably because they got popular via hollywood.

Wuxia - Never heard of it

Wuxia means martial arts genre, all the Kung Fu flicks Indians watched from young. My Indian co-workers even knew old flicks from the 70/80's.

Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee are typical Chinese films, made popular by Chinese. Hollywood aren't known for marital arts. Chinese movies are popular worldwide dubbed in many languages.

You can find many Hindi dubbed Chinese films in Youtube and torrent, even the old and obscure ones. Such as these

We are now living in the age of post-script movies, at least as far as popular cinema is concerned. Even Hollywood has all these tent-pole Marvel Superhero movies which have no script and are destroying good cinema. Each year, dozens of good movies are released and we don't hear about them until the Award season and then everyone rushes to watch them.

As for cringy Indian shows, they are so bad. I once saw my mom watch a scene in some show. A week later, I saw her watching the same show, which comes 5 times a week, and the same scene was going on.

Bruce Lee

Oh yes! My hero!! My life was changed forever after I saw Enter the Dragon. Till then I was a bookworm and a nerd. After that, I started playing sports and physical training, all to become like Bruce Lee.

Well, I couldn't become Bruce Lee but at the age of 36 I am an excellent athlete and run a marathon in just under 4 hours. It was the best decision I ever made.

All fake unfortunately , all shows are "fiction"
Most of the life / stories dipicted in Indian shows are all "fiction" a world that exists only in minds of movie makers , they image the world close to Western culture as possible as their own culture has ample limitations

Reality in India

Fake culture
Best-Dance-Cover-Pic.jpg

This fake persona of "EXCESS" is created to intoxicate the mind so people will forget about reality for a while when they are in theatres its like a DRUG

Overexposure is harmful becasue you will always expect life to be like it is as shown in Movies when in reality it is not and many people are Shocked when they see real india for what it is, many people who stop watching the garbage report improvements in their preception of reality once the movie / drams are shut down

In reality if you ever touched a lady like in the video below you might get mugged by people as the lady will cry "Rape" "Rape" "Rape"

The fakeness in movies and drama is generally bad for society , as it confuses people between what is real and what is illusion , even the rich stars in life outside of movie do not act like they do on the movies

The background cities and villages are also "FAKE" artifically created miniture sets or sometimes the songs are filmed in western countries so "Asthethically" it gives the movie a nice touch.....99.9% fake and 1% reality

Reality is obviously difficult to accept

Unfortunately this is the reality

So why people want to show fake life ? Well it makes the people $$$ fake life fake money , fake happiness = Indian media / movies and drama

Ok its a propaganda thanks for supporting it, later. Btw happy for Dangal opening maybe it will surpass PK record in China. And bollywood is a number game rather quality due to huge population comprising other SA countries too so don't compare with hollywood.
