Chinese vice-minister arrives in Bangladesh

Chinese vice-minister of foreign affairs, Sun Weidong, arrived in Dhaka on Friday night for a two-day official visit aimed at discussing matters of mutual interest.
During his stay in Dhaka, the Chinese vice-minister is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with foreign secretary Masud Bin Momen.
The meeting will take place on Saturday morning at the State Guesthouse Padma.
Toufique Hasan, the director general of the East Asia & Pacific Wing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received the Chinese vice-minister upon his arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:25 PM.
Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, was also present during the reception, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As part of his visit, Sun Weidong is set to meet prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday, prior to concluding his trip to Dhaka.
Recently, China's ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, expressed the view that Bangladesh and China should strengthen their strategic partnership to enhance cooperation and explore new avenues for growth.
He further stated that China is willing to collaborate with Bangladesh to pursue cooperation opportunities within the framework of the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative.
The ambassador emphasized their willingness to support the upgrading of industries and the digitalization process in Bangladesh, with the aim of improving the quality and competitiveness of products manufactured in the country.
