What brings the situation in to the table is, we can replace all our equipment, with time. Even if you are talking about ana ircraft carrier. But when war broke out in China or Near China, Chinese soil is the one that taking on damage. No matter how you spin it, US alone would have enough power for a combine Naval and Air Attack and put Chinese Industrial might to sleep. You can shoot 1000 DF-21 for all i care but if that would come down to a total warfare, the combine effort of 10 carrier group and 500+ aircraft in the region is unforgiving.

Not to mention we have many, many allies who would join the fight. yes, you may be able to sink some of our ship, I will also conceived that you could probably got one or 2 of our carrier good, but what you lost is much, much more, you lost the whole eastern seaboard. Damage alone will be at least 10 times what we would lose, may even be touching trillions of dollar damage.

The Chinese do not have the means to project their conventional military force into the United States, we have the ability to neutralize any hostile units of theirs. The 7th Fleet alone could neutralize their navy. Well, to be accurate, the 7th fleet would be assisted by our Japanese partners.

Come on tho, the JSDF's Maritime Wing is practically an extension of the US Navy.

In regards to fighting the Chinese in their soil, we would have to erase their navy first. Once our Airforce eradicates the PLAAF and gains air supremacy, we would begin pulverizing any land targets vis-a-vis a combined naval-air operations.
