The US insists that it can conduct military operations wherever it feels like it. This includes near China's islands.

Correspondingly, China insists on conducting attack submarine operations wherever it feels like it. This includes near US carriers.

The first Chinese attack submarine Freedom of Navigation (FON) was against the USS Kitty Hawk in 2006. A Chinese Type 039A Song submarine surfaced within torpedo range of the US carrier.

Recently, China conducted its second attack submarine FON against the USS Ronald Reagan.

Since the US has announced that it will conduct more FON against Chinese islands. We can expect more Chinese attack submarine FON operations against US carriers.

In a grown-up world, one side will leave the other side's islands alone. In reciprocity, the other side will leave your carriers alone. Instead, we have constant drills against the other's islands/carriers. Looks like the Cold War is back.

Lol United States created the so called 'Freedom of Navigation' for itself, to give itself unrestricted access to anywhere in the world under the guise that they are upholding some type of 'freedom'-- yea, freedom for the U.S. to do as it pleases.

Well now similarly other countries are such as China are also doing the same against the USA and the USA is shaking.

Chinese warships and submarines should be made to shadow every US warship that comes within 500 nautical miles of Chinese shores。

This is a cat and mouse game。The USN should be harassed one way or another whenever and wherever possible。:D

It seems the modern day CPC has decided to grow a pair of balls and stand up for itself and not backdown. Thank god Deng's liberal policies are being destroyed by Xi Jinping.

Welcome news.

Hopefully CPC hawks can use these crisis to destroy the remaining liberal establishment in the CPC and make China a global power and become more assertive.

China should never apologise for its power. It should use its power to push its weight around and protect Chinese interests.

China ensuring global security and protecting freedom of navigation. Freedom operations will continue and be intensified.

Exactly. It is the right time to at least respond in kind. US cheap stunts will not be left unanswered. Hopefully they will take the response like a gentleman instead of weeping and putting out cunningly-edited articles by regime media like above.

Russia is not backing down to the American tyrants, seems like China is not prepared to backdown either.

Maybe it's a coordinated policy between Russia and China. Both countries seem to have had enough of American thuggery.

PVN people's volunteer navy is already surrounding, obstructing and harassing USN warships in the South China Sea.

PLAAF already deployed to South China Sea for long range strikes against Guam!

Now we hunt down their aircraft carrier with our submarines. We have forward deployed to the Spratly Islands to defeat the USN with superior numbers! Our new fleet to patrol South Pacific and Indian Ocean will be based entirely in the Spratlys. The next confrontation will be a naval battle with tactical nukes erasing Guam and Kadena from the planet.

The submarine tracked the carrier at torpedo range and surfaced to give the USN sailors a little surprise. If this was a war, the carrier would be sunk.

Come on with that logic the US military with its worldwide presence could sink every one of your cargo ships around the world because your military has no global presence to protect them.

Ships act differently during wartime.
