Air pollution in Chinese cities especially Shanghai has reached dangerous levels which is having hazardous consequences to one’s health. Hundreds of flights and sporting events have been cancelled, while face masks and air purifiers sold out in stores. All week, the pollution level hovered at “heavily” and “severely” polluted, according to Shanghai’s Air Quality Index, at up to 31 times the recommended levels.
But now the Chinese authorities have come up with some bizarre and outrageously stupid and hilarious reasons why pollution is beneficial!!
Chinese State broadcaster CCTV and the widely read tabloid the Global Times, published by the Communist Party's official People's Daily, both tried to put a positive spin on China's smog problem, trying to obfuscate the issue so the CPC is not blamed for their utter failure in bringing down pollution levels.
Here are the bloomers….
Am I surprised at Chinese State media propaganda? Nope! They are past masters in twisting stuff to cover up the failures of the CPC! But this one really takes the cake!

Here are the bloomers….
- Smog could be useful in military situations, as it could hinder the use of guided missiles.
- Obscuring sight lines, reducing the effectiveness of surveillance and weapons systems.
- Help in increasing Chinese people's sense of humor.
- It unifies the Chinese people.
- It makes China more equal.
- It raises citizen awareness of the cost of China’s economic development.
- It makes people funnier.
- It makes people more knowledgeable (of things like meteorology and the English word haze).
