very true.
the true competition has always been between US, russia and china.
other countries, whether they like hearing it or not, work for either of these 3 powers or a combination of the 3 powers.
right now, the US is the dominant power, russia failed to topple american power during the soviet era but russia is still a powerful nation, but now china is slowly but surely starting to rival america which makes america feel threatened as u can see where they are forming military/security alliances with their lapdogs such as india, japan, south korea, vietnam, phillippines, australia, etc and resorting to trade protectionism and anti-chinese propaganda smear campaign by the american media on various chinese issues.
china is growing the economy while adding to the other pillars of power as the economy grows such as military, political, technological, informational, cultural. what russia failed to do when challenging american dominance was they used resource wealth to develop militarily but they failed to develop their economy which is the central pillar.
china is rising and the americans are rattled.
I agree that the most important relationship is between US, Russia and China. But many Indians here believe that its US, India and China. They believe that India will be the world's 3rd largest economy in 15 years and would rightfully take over from Russia as a top 3 country in geopolitics. I still believe that they are delusional. If India does not take care of its poverty and backwardness, no one would take them seriously
