December 2011? Awwwww. I was hoping for July. XD

India would likely win the indigneous AC race against China.

For God's sake, this carrier will not be named after Shi Lang.

Most likely naming after a city.

A safe bet that China gonna be the second country after USA that can build its own 100,000 tons nuclear supercarrier.

Well, more than 50 years ago, the Japanese already built various class of Aircraft Carriers; With modern technologies and know-hows, certain the Chinese could top that; however to build a Nuclear Power with capacity of 100,000 tons of displacement to the level of current of next general American Aircraft Carrier...; it's an entirely different issue though. To set it as a goal, the Chinese certain could do it, to achieve it (functional purpose & effectiveness)... we must WAIT & SEE! ;)

The WWII carriers and the modern supercarriers are totally irrelevant.

Of course, China is preparing to build the next gen supercarrier with fully electric generated power and electromagnetic capapults.

Our most advanced shipyard has almost the capability to build the Nimitz equivalent supercarrier.

And Varyag is being refitted by our second most advanced shipyard.

I would have to response with skepticism i.e. China could build J20 (the 5th generation fighter) but she's yet could build the engine to fly it! Theoretically, China could match any technological advancements; however, in practice... there are quite a few hurdles she must overcome yet. There are still very few contenders out there but certainly there are also many pretenders in this discipline as well.

J-20's engine is Chinese, not Russian. This has been mentioned countless times.

Now the WS-10A engine is the majority for the PLAAF, and AL-31F is only applied for the old aircrafts like SU-27SK/J-11A/J-10A.

Please keep in mind that the USA's already tested flights F22 since... 1990! ;)

It was only a primitive prototype YF-22.

Keep in mind that it was deployed in 2005 in fact, whereas J-20 will be deployed by 2015.

Yes, the world would love to be able to observe the test flights & performance of the J20 accordingly! :)
