Beijing confirms DPRK delegation's China visit

A delegation from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) ruling Workers' Party started its visit in China on Monday, Lu Kang, spokesperson of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed during the daily presser.

Invited by International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China , according to Lu, the delegation will view the achievements China made in the domestic economic construction and opening-up and reform as well as promote the exchanges of both Parties' experiences and views on governance.

The visit came after recent positive interactions between Chinese President Xi Jinping and DPRK leader Kim Jong Un, who have met twice since late March.

Kim Jong Un held talks with Xi Jinping on March 28 in Beijing – his first known foreign visit since coming to power in 2011. A month later, he made an unannounced visit to Dalian in northeast China's Liaoning Province in early May.

President Xi meets with North Korean visiting friendship group

President Xi Jinping on Wednesday met with a visiting friendship group of North Korea's Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) led by Pak Thae-song, member of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee.

The delegation includes party secretaries of all of North Korea's provinces and cities.

Xi, also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said their visit is an important communications occasion between the CPC and the WPK, which is a result of his two meetings with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Beijing and Dalian.

China supports the improvement of inter-Korean relations, North Korea-US dialogue and peninsula denuclearization, Xi told the delegation. China supports North Korea's economic development and improvement in people's livelihood, and will back North Korea's development path that is suitable for its own situations, Xi said.

Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, attended the meeting.

I wish with or without an agreement with the US, the DPRK will continue its opening up. As long as they convince China, SK and Japan for their sincere peaceful efforts, US approval may be rendered void.

As Europeans now learn by experience, peace is not the ultimate goal for the US. In fact, theirs is more of a war economy.

Take our the war option, the US gets confused and looks funny.
