No, they are not there anymore. They patrolled upto the point they perceived as their border and turned back. Indian side does the same. This is not a new phenomenon, the media outlet is just hyping it up. This has been happening for decades and wont stop until the border is marked.
I thought people frequenting defense forum might know this by now, but all are jumping up and down for no apparent reason.
India and China are two mature countries and even though sometimes patrols from both the forces come eyeball to eyeball but they have never fired a shot, contrary to our western border which is fenced but firing occurs on daily basis.

Believe me you couldn't want to go there. Those forums are in mandarin and all the posters there are Chinese, so no outsiders and therefore the discussion are one sided.

China claims all of Arunachal Pradesh as their territory, but it cant patrol the whole area for obvious reasons. Both sides patrol parties ingress only upto a certain point where the escalation wont be that serious.

chinese occupation of Tibet of much more troublesome than any line colonist created. There was never any border between India and CHina it was always Tibet.

Thanks. I try not to be jingoistic when it comes to china. Always take what comes out of Indian media with fistful of salt.

Google earth is not always accurate when it comes to remote areas. You have to take a look at official Indian government maps and documents. Let me give you some more information regarding that area.
Upper Subansiri District is a mountainous tract. On account of the existence of the hill ridges and the valley its topography assumes typical character. The hill ridges are situated haphazardly. As soon as one ends the other ridge starts either parallel or in opposite direction. At these intervals the wide or narrow valleys get the foothills constituting 20 per cent to total geographical area of district. The wide and narrow valleys share 35 per cent each to total geographical area. The rest about 10 percent is the snow clad peaks.
As of 2011 Upper Subansiri had 664.780 km of road length constructed by PWD and some 500 odd km of macadum and unsurfaced roads.
