Chinese movie relives WWII China-Myanmar supply lifeline construction

Both Taiwan and Spratly island were handed over to the Republic of China by the Empire of Japan after they surrendered in WWII. These are the negotiated arrangement made before end of WWII by member countries of the allies forces.

Yes, and I never had any problem with the Taiwan question. There was no question of handing over a sea to any one of the nations.

Isn't China soldier part of the allies????

Yes, they were, and where did you see any contrary claim?

I don't understand your point of bringing in Stalin. Russia was fighting the Nazi, they are not that interested, and is not involved in the far-east theater until after German surrender.

They were cited - Stalin was mentioned - to show that not all the Allies were equally enthusiastic, and there was no great urgency to supply China; the European theatre mattered most, the Anglo-American campaign against the Japanese was second to that, and the continuation of the Sino-Japanese War was, factually, the third in the list.

Read my post, and yours to which it was a reply. I originally objected to the South China Sea and the East China Sea being mentioned.

In the perception of Chinese, when they see their compatriot trying so hard to transport the supply for China war effort against Japanese invasion, the obvious question is why? Why do they need to build a new supply route through treacherous terrain? And the answer is obviously because the traditional route of supply, the sea ports were blockaded.

Whether the Asian theater is secondary to European theater or not is irrelevant, because the China theater would still matter to US war effort, secondary or not.

The Allies did agree for China to take Spratly and Taiwan island. Therefore the East and South China Sea is relevant.

The East and South China Sea never came up at that point of time. These two are relevant only today, only due to Chinese hegemonism.

There was certainly an effort, a serious effort, to build China's war effort. It did not extend to the kind of mass sacrifice suggested by the earlier post.

Never come up at this point? Do you think the Allies did not considered using seaport to supply China? Of course they did. Only because it is not possible, they have to figure out novel and difficult way of supplying China. And during those difficult time, when they make preparation for the post WWII plan, do you think either the American or Chinese would have not consider that situation? Of course they would have.

That would be great. Burma theater was very complicated because US, Chiang and the British all had different gaols. Eventually Chiang recall his troops back to China to fight the Japanese. British was pissed because they want the Chinese in case Japanese starts to invade British India. And the Indian were colluding with the Japanese to liberate India. US on the other hand did not support the British imperialist activities.
Correct. In WW2, Indians have had the distinction of being both a 1)collaborator of the Facists and 2)subordinate to the Allies
