Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held meeting with COAS

Why all these FMs meeting coas? So our FM policy is still being controlled by GHQ? What the hell Shah Mahmood Qureshi was saying during his first press conference as FM that Pakistan foreign policy will be made here that is at foreign office.

Mate, FM is an FM. Lets not change his role to something it is not. And lets not ignore the fact that it is not the role of COAS to meet a foreign FM and hold delegate level talks with him and his staff UNLESS something extraordinary has taken place. And it looks like something has happened forcing the Chinese FM to make this visit.

Actually cpec route(western) and security is under army management. Previous govt was just there to given presentations of TV real implementation was done through army so this meeting with coas is continuation of actual process briefing although IK govt should take charge of it as well. Coas should only meet people similar to his rank.

Imran Khan had the supoort from pakistan army, so its very clear that PA will play a very important role in foreign affair.

PA is sincere friend of China.

i trust PA because they know who is friend and who is not. they have very clear mind.

the most wanted senario for USA is that Pakistan alienate from China, and china has full scale war with India. thats not gonna happen cause we are.no.idiots.

when China and Pakistan unite together, the whole sub continent countries will live in peace.

the most unwanted senario of USA is India reconciliate with.Pakistan under the banner of SCO.

when both Russia and CHINA are against war in sub continent, no one can launch it.

its basically CHINA&RUSSIA VS USA.

I think that China's objective with this visit only relates to:

1). Getting a confirmation from the new govt. that what was agreed in the last Pakistan govt. remains the same.
2) China also does not want the projects to be made public - which Asad Umar has indicated.
3). China would also like to know what was discussed and agreed in Pompeo visit - it is really their duty to do so for their country.

In return, China is willing to narrow the China-Pakistan trade deficit.

I don't think this has anything to do with what US has offered. US has really not offered anything, and will not offer anything - unless they have reached their end in A-nistan.

Pakistan can't ignore the west. You have a lot of people to people links to west that have been cultivated rather than just transactional relationship.

Big countries always get smaller countries to isolate themselves for a carrot. See the big picture and keep good relations with everyone because you are going to need their trade. China is trading around the world even with India and Israel and everyone. Pakistan needs to do the same.

We need to stop unnecessary visits from US ambassadors wastes our time and resources

What has happened is diplomatic blunder on one Hand China is helping us with CPEC and on other hand we are welcoming a US ambassador, US which has sanctioned China with Tariffs

That is what has happened

Give more Time to CHINA they are our brother

When Trump goes away then deal with USA when they treat China normally

We wasted time of 10 working Government officials for this guy for useless chit chat

Make time for everyone. Trump isn't going to be around forever.

b) Folks selling us T-129 Helicopters

I think the only discussion happened here is how to kick India.

China doesn't need to worry in regards to implementation of CPEC; it is already materializing.

And transform Pakistan into DPRK 2.0? Please be realistic.

We should not compromise on CPEC to appease any country. China versus US on a bigger scale, is not our concern and a political development which is beyond our capacity to control. Cold War era mentality of picking sides is a problematic foreign policy which have hurt Pakistan tremendously since 9/11. We should not repeat the same mistake again.

Look at India - in good books of both US and Russia due to its political maturity.

If India decide to be friends with China today, China won't leave any stone upturned to appease it because India is a huge market, a rising industrial base and power. I tell you from personal experience and general study - Chinese are NOT emotional fools. They follow their "national interests" to the letter.

Pakistan should forge constructive ties with Russia, US and China for its benefit, and avoid [unnecessary] confrontation with any big player. This is smart diplomacy and the only way forward for Pakistan if it is to prosper.

COAS Bajwa visited UAE and;

"praised the development of the Gulf country in all sectors, including economy and culture. He also appreciated the country’s leadership for following balanced policies at regional and international level."

Source: https://en.dailypakistan.com.pk/hea...ae-pm-in-dubai-discusses-strategic-relations/

I also recall a tweet of COAS Bajwa in which he expressed similar views for Pakistan.

Exactly what I was thinking! Why the F does the COAS meet any and every foreign minister or delegation? This shows who controls the country and its a very sad state of affairs.

It should never be seen as charity we made the mistake of taking hand me downs from US for far too long. Now we are paying the dues.

CPEC should be on our terms or we end up like an African country or Sri Lanka with a 100 year lease.

We need to have more business partners in CPEC and CPEC should STRICTLY be on our tetms without compromisisng national integrity.
I have a related view ...

I suspect the US might secretly support Pakistan-Russian ties as it could, potentially, result in Pakistan becoming less amenable to China. The shakiness involving CPEC's role in Pakistan's ForEx decline plus Russia's apparent or potential willingness to invest and countertrade (thereby bumping our ForEx) could see an interesting dynamic.

However, the drawback of this 'hope' is that by looping in Russia, I think Pakistan becomes much more aware of what it means to be neutral and indifferent. In other words, we could develop the mindset of not seeing others as 'brothers' or whatever and become more like Russia and China in as far as pursuing raw interests.

In that case, Pakistan might double-down on China, but with a much sharper focus and push to exact concessions (as opposed to now where it sees any Chinese overture as charity).

Weird that the chinese foreign minister is meeting with the military establishment than the civilian one.
