I think in this case the Chinese embassy was trying to make a valid point between fertility rates and social and economic wellbeing but was clumsy with their wording.

To specify Uyghurs was a mistake and they should have broadened it to all cultures and peoples.

We can all agree that in this day and age with advanced medical care and machines, there is little need for one woman to have more than 2/3 children on average in order to ensure the survival of the human species.

.
My point remains though. Calling a group Baby making machines is derogatory whichever way you spin it. People will see it as trying to undermine existing cultures by showing them as inferior. The slur being used for all or being near to the truth or propaganda doesn't change that fact.
What's wrong in the Chinese embassy's tweet? The American propagandists just made a political spin on it with lies .Before the Chinese gov drastically improved living standards and promoted equal opportunities and criminalized women oppressing practices, women in Xinjiang used to be apparently treated like just baby-making machines, which has been changed now..Such has been the norm for many backward and misogynic societies.Anyone or any culture in the world deserve to be slurred if they treats women as a second class citizen or as simple baby-making machines . Are women less human than man ?

I can go for the gender equality aspect of it, everyone would support more rights for women, but calling someone baby making machine is really like spitting on their self esteem and image, showing they were lesser culturally and are now being saved. You just don't do that nomatter how oppressed you think they are in their current culture, can't we just accept that the derogatory slur could have been avoided here?

That's just reality,if reality of women's oppression in poor underdeveloped societies offends you ,change it instead of demanding others to not offenD you. In iNDIA itself oppression of women is evident,in many parts, women are literally treated like just baby making machines,no equal opportunity,no freedom to work or travel,or choice to wear, study;just make them suffer and destroy their bodies from breeding hoards of kids of which they can't even provide sufficient amenities.I have a huge middle thumb for any culture that treats women as second class citizen and just baby making machines and mere outlet of the men.Only in barbaric societies where societal progress hasn't made and upward movement from primitive stages, such inhumane practice will be condoned when it actually deserves reprisal on every possible instance.Props to Chinese embassy for highlighting the uplift of uyghur women due to improvement of living standard and other gender equality related policies.China is a straight shooter,it saw the problem ,fixed it ,mentioned it.

Actually China said all Chinese women "were", not "are" as the OP misleadingly wrote, baby making machines who had no rights, no access to fair education before PRC and took the credit for banning polygamy first time in the Chinese history under the well known Mao's slogan " women hold up half the sky"

China said it about all Chinese women in the past, doesn't matter thay are Hans, Uighurs or Tibetans.. but China never said it based on religions, as OP misleadingly claims, "Muslims, Christian..." it's utterly a lie.

So really the post (which must at least secretly be party approved) is an attack against any nation/group that has a high birth rate. Can easily see which regions, nations, people have many young people and mindlessly exploding unchecked populations. Worst is Africa.

So basically you are saying the slur was justified given their culture, got it! Don't agree with it though, you don't need slur and upliftment to go hand in hand. You can highlight issues without derogatory slurs on a culture.

China says it about all Chinese women in the past, not only for any specific ethnic group or religious group

How's it a slur? women aren't treated like baby making machines anymore in Xinjiang ,is a slur? If that's a slur, such needs to occur across the globe, across various culture of different religions, races and beliefs;where living standard improved and women treated more than just babymaking machines.
