Chinese company plans hyperloop traveling at 1,000 km/h

China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp, one of the nation's major space contractors, announced that it has launched research and development of a futuristic ultrafast transport system popularly known as hyperloop, in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, on Wednesday.

The CASIC hyperloop will be a maglev line on which a pod will travel on partly elevated tubes or tunnels at superfast speed reaching 1,000 km per hour.

CASIC is the first Chinese enterprise and the world's third, following the United States' Hyperloop Transportation Technologies and Hyperloop One, that has started developing hyperloop system. The project will benefit from the company's rich experience and expertise in systems engineering and supersonic vehicles, said CASIC.

据澎湃新闻8月30日报道,在30日于武汉举办的第三届中国(国际)商业航天高峰论坛上,中国航天科工集团公司副总经理刘石泉透露,中国航天科工集团公司(以下简称“中国航天科工”)开展了“高速飞行列车”的研究论证,拟通过商业化、市场化模式,将超声速飞行技术与轨道交通技术相结合,研制的新一代交通工具,利用超导磁悬浮技术和真空管道,致力于实现超音速的“近地飞行”。

据了解,中国航天科工的“高速飞行列车”最高速度可达4000公里/小时。而目前的民航客机的飞行时速约为900公里。

中国航天科工相关负责人透露,高速飞行列车项目的落地将按照最大运行速度1000公里/小时、2000公里/小时、4000公里/小时三步走战略逐步实现:第一步通过1000公里/小时运输能力建设区域性城际飞行列车交通网,第二步通过2000公里/小时运输能力建设国家超级城市群飞行列车交通网,第三步通过4000公里/小时运输能力建设“一带一路”飞行列车交通网,最终形成一张继航天、高铁、核电之后的中国新名片。:what:

中国航天科工方面称,相比传统高铁,高速飞行列车运行速度提升了10倍;相比现有民航客机,速度提升了5倍,最大速度可达到4000公里/小时,是人类对交通工具速度极致追求的一大进步。

据了解,中国航天科工拥有丰富的重大项目系统工程实践经验和技术积累,具有大工程必备的仿真建模和大系统试验能力,以及国际一流的超声速飞行器设计能力,这些为高速飞行列车项目建设提供重要的基础。

中国航天科工相关负责人还透露,高速飞行列车工程项目实施注重发挥各方面优势建立国家队,联合了国内外20多家科研机构,成立了国内首个国际性高速飞行列车产业联盟,目前团队拥有相关领域的200多项专利。

据悉,中国航天科工是全球首个提出超声速地面运输系统的集团公司。当前,世界上对外宣布开展大于1000公里/小时运输系统研究的公司主要有三家,包括美国的HTT公司、Hyperloop One公司以及中国航天科工集团公司。

中国航天科工相关负责人表示,高速飞行列车不仅仅拉近城市之间的时空距离,同时其具有不受天气条件影响,不消耗化石能源,可与城市地铁无缝接驳等诸多优点,是未来交通领域的发展趋势和技术制高点。

Time for China to be wise, AND not go ahead with this plan.

A hyperloop requires an ultra steady, secured chamber of depressurized chamber along the WHOLE length of the ride. It is too risky to maintain a depressurized chamber even on a plant scale, leave along for 1000s of kilometers.

This is also taking energy away from Aviation sector where China needs to focus.

just stick with the current high speed train tech. this shit is expensive and looks unsafe. let 'muricans be the guinea pigs first :D

CCTV reported this project on news channel today and said from Guanzhou to Beijing can be covered in 20 minutes ,4000 KM/H, it blows my mind.

Time for China to be wise, AND not go ahead with this plan.

I guess they know everything about them, the risks involved, the feasibility prospect. Have heard about that for some years now and only now they brought out the concret plan and agenda.

This is theoretical speed. Remember the news regarding underwater submarine travelling at high speeds?

This is like the theoretical limit when everything is perfect.

Getting even half this speed will be a big challenge. And this speed will most probably be in vaccum.

I am telling you, maintaining low pressures is an EXTREMELY costly job. And maintaining them over a whole tunnel of 1000s of kms would make the project untenable.

Focus on Aviation.

This is like the theoretical limit when everything is perfect.

Getting even half this speed will be a big challenge. And this speed will most probably be in vaccum.

I am telling you, maintaining low pressures is an EXTREMELY costly job. And maintaining them over a whole tunnel of 1000s of kms would make the project untenable.

Focus on Aviation.

Maintaining indian railway more difficult than all of challenge you mention above..
I believe China will be able to make it happen

Interesting, CASIC claimed that it was the first company in the world to propose the concept of 1000KMH plus super railway system, but the whole world only knows Hyper Loop. What a lousy PR job Chinese have done! Even in the future China is the first country to build this system, all those "regular trolls" will still label China "copy, paste, steal". :undecided:

A Chinese aerospace company announced on Wednesday that it has launched research into floating trains which may one day be able to reach 4,000 kilometers per hour.

The China Aerospace Science and Industry Cooperation (CASIC) will try to combine its supersonic flight technology with rail transportation to develop a new generation of trains, thepaper.cn reported, citing comments made by Liu Shiquan, deputy general manager of CASIC, at a summit held in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei Province on Wednesday.

Liu said that the trains will have the ability to "fly above the rails" with magnetic levitation technology and travel through vacuum pipelines free of friction.

The super-speed trains may be able to reach a maximum speed of 4,000 kilometers per hour, Liu said. This is over four times faster than modern commercial jets, according to the report. At this speed, the roughly 1,000 kilometer-journey from Beijing to Shanghai, which now takes 4.5 hours via China's high-speed rail, could be shortened to around 15 minutes.

The project will be carried out step by step, with the first step being the development of trains with a maximum speed of 1,000 kilometers per hour, then 2,000 kilometers per hour, and the final step will be reaching 4,000 kilometers per hour, said thepaper.cn's report, citing CASIC.

Besides the future train's incredible speed, it may also be able to protect the environment as it will not use fossil fuel, according to the report.

This is not a totally novel concept however. Billionaire Elon Musk has been a prominent advocate of such technology for several years, which he refers to as a "hyperloop."

Well i cant blame because you are looking from a indian perspective which lacks the capacity to build anything that requires competent people.

Investing requires huge amount of money and people with relevant expertise.

India is still trying to fix 70 year old worth of domestic issues such as unemployment, poor infrastructure and taxation issue while China is embracing the future and working to solve tomorrow's problem.

There you have the difference between India and China.

Besides, you are you tell the Chinese what to do? Its aviation industry has produced C919,J20,ARJ and it assemblies both Airbus and Boeing planes. Is this some sort of bigotry from Indians because they have none expect for that TEJAS which HAL seems reluctant to manufacture :D
