Everybody is trying to claim ownership of the various nomadic and semi-nomadic peoples who used to live in the borders of today's PRC. Ironic that they are historically closest to Mongols, Manchurians and Huaxia, but the people who claim them are Koreans, Vietnamese and Turks. Then after they claim the tribes, they say that they "ruled most of China" for hundreds if not thousands of years until the agrarian Huaxia stole the territory and wrested control of the country from them.

Everybody know Mongolians and Manchurians are pretty much all assimilated Chinese nowadays, so they try to rob China's history by using terms like "Turkish" "Tungustic" "Baiyue" to somehow invent a non-Chinese identity for those peoples.

I highly doubt that the Turkish government wants to put their nose into China's internal affairs. As some Chinese members said, there are Turkish people who are dreaming of one big Turkish state, but again that is only a stupid dream. Let us be realistic, Turkey is a sovereign country that has some history back in today's China. But that is only a fragment of our history. Turkey is a Euroasian country not European or Asian alone but both, that is our uniqueness.

And i would kindly ask our Chinese friends to refrain from generalizing Turks as pan-nationalists etc. those people are only a minority, we are generally much more pragmatic. Turkey and China are two great nations with a rich history, let us respect that and look to a friendly and cooperative future between those two countries. Both our countries are on the rise, we will most certainly see a broader cooperation in the coming decades, as China will become the biggest market in the world.
