As I noticed, there is indifference, as well. At times, some interest like you would be interested in a monkey in the zoo if you have seen never or few before. Curiosity. While i would agree with you if this was pre 1990s backwards Asia, but not in 2014. Over 300,000 monkeys expats in shanghai , a sizable number. not a novelty anymore.

CPC in fact only considers Mao as the true founding father of the modern China, but now they use to keep Sun for some other purposes.

And Sun was a baptized protestant, so his ideology is in fact not fully compatible with the modern China.

It is not a government or development problem, it has nothing to do with government policy. It's a problem rooted in the mindset of a people, something that you are not willing to admit.

I don't know about other East Asian countries, but in China's case it is indeed has to do with government's policy.

No one "naturally" look up to or look down upon any ethnic groups, it's all aquired taste. Our perception towards others are influenced by media, if the media portary the West as some kind of sacred place and Western people are superior creature, surely they will be looked up to. In China media is controlled by the government, it is apparently government's fault to let the media glorify the West.

Culture invasion is another issue, when people watched too much hollywood movies, they got brainwashed by western aesthetic standards.

I don't know about "glorifying the west". The average person thinks the US is a drive-by shooting nightmare of crime from all the popular movies. Unfortunately crime stuff sells more tickets than movies about beautiful rainbows.

Name a few things you see in media that actually portrays the west as superior? (Please don't talk about something unrealistic like an iron-man suit)
