It's even a benefit to the local economy. Sure, US troops have brought some crime with them too, but US soldiers and their families also bring economic benefits such as partaking in the services and consumption of products in their host nation, which means they are paying taxes too, assuming the nation has a sales tax.

Norway is home to a few thousand US Marines, and yet we are still world leaders HDI measures like per-capital income, quality of life, life expectancy, and last I checked, our nation's economy was doing fine. Commodities prices have put a tapper on some earnings, but the US military being in Norway hasn't.

You make a very good point, having bases or foreign troops stationed in your nation doesn't cramp or crimp a nation, it even helps.

It is a good move, Chinese Army & Navy should be stationed in Pakistan for the protection of CPEC & this will also check US. China should make a Navy base in Gawadar & similarly Pakistan should to make a new Navy base in Gawadar & buy Chinese navy ships.

i would expect the navy to be docking ships there and thats it. theres no need to bring the whole marching band, the navy is enough. the Pakistani navy is almost non existent they have 5 very old vintage ships from the 60's. 4 newer ships from china [1 built in Pakistan] also a few fac's. and the 5 agosta 70/90b which the 70's are very old. granted they have pulled their finger with with 8 subs.

The Pakistani navy is pretty good. Our submarines are capable of anti area access denial, making a sea blockade impossible for most navy's (that includes India). The other ships are also in good condition, and are decently equipped. My main concern is the navy's aviation division. They need some new weapons.

US appreciates CPEC and stability in region just like US and China are on some page regarding peace process in Afghanistan.

USN won't come any closer and won't try to stop/sabotage this unless US decides to make China and Pakistan combined enemy and wage 3rd world war.

I won't see US and China going against each other as Russia will be the biggest winner in US-China fight. There are just too many variables in equation.

There is no soldier on grounds. Indian media gone mad. Engineers and technical staff from China definitely here and helping CPEC.

China will station its military presence in Pakistan for CPEC and ports related to it. So I will expect Chinese boots on grounds as well as PLAN presence at Gawadar..................... though Pakistan is doing fine job, but still Chinese factor has its own charm and influence in region...............

US supporting peace talks inAfghanistan and supporting CPEC are nothing but scaring indians so that indians can give US an excess to its military bases.
