The story is a bit left of the middle. There is a higher burden on Pakistan to profit from CPEC whicb requires astute leadership to be wary of over concessional terms to Chinese firms that will come "ancillary" to CPEC. However, CPEC is a required "evil" in the face of an utter corrupt and dysfunctional society unable to break free of its loops due to both ignorance and lack of communication lines for people to move around.

In an odd way, CPEC provides redundancy to the lines of communication and will perhaps assist in uplifting the masses from their religous-feudal imposed backwardness.

So while it is likely that CPEC may end up being a burden on the current workforce capacity of Pakistan, there exists a possibility for a future workforce enabled by better infrastructure to be able to offset this.

The gamble is not on the government or otherwise, its on the people of Pakistan . A forced medicine that will either fix us or kill us because lying half paraplegic while seeping extremism was no longer working for the rest of the neighborhood.

India isn't the UK. In India the word is a reduction of the phrase "Cheen ki log" (People of China). Hindi isn't English, do learn that similar sounding words have completely different meanings depending on language
