Hong Kong was built by the hardworking Han Chinese, not the Brits.
If the Brits were deserved to take away the credit, then why they still left many of their former colonies so poor?
Those colonies have far more natural resources than Hong Kong, and they shouldn't become so poor.
Exactly. Look at the British colonies in Africa... like Somalia, Nigeria, and Zimbawabe. Or the British colonies in the Middle East, like Yemen, Iraq and Afghanistan.
But the worst, were the Native Americans and Indigenous Australians, who faced nearly complete extermination from their own lands.
Hong Kong and Singapore were lucky, we didn't have many resources, so the British left us to ourselves. It was the hardworking Chinese in these two cities that built them into what they are today.
