China's next gen tanks/APC will be fully electrified, first will come in 2018

China's official news source from PLA Institute of armored force disclose China's next gen tanks and armed vehicles will turn fully electrified:

That include:
(1) Fully-electrified propulsion and power system
(2) Electrified weaponary: EM railguns
(3) Electrified armours

The official channel also disclose that PLA has already has already order such vehicles under test, and first such version, althrough started with hybrid powertrain, will come to PLA for test next year.

As if you think M1A2 , Leclerc , Leopard 2 MBT, Al-khalid or T-90 has no electronic stuff onboard? All these so called advance MBT will still be sitting duck if EMP is detonated. Their infra sensor, night vision , computer fire control and all knockout. The tank is as good as thrash.

While China full electric tank too will knockout by EMP but that makes no different from other countries MBT.
But if you take out EMP detonation and pit one on one of China electric tank vs western non electric tank.
China tank gun might outrange traditional main gun due to higher muzzle velocity. No gun over heat problem, sustain higher rate of fire. Full electronic gearbox makes the tank extreme responsive unlike combustion engine.

Maybe skip the rail gun and use a regular gun. Atleast when it's sitting duck.... it can fire...

Fire what? Manual sighting like WWII? In modern days when fighting conventional warfare, once your communication and electronic is knocked out. The war is over. Just like USAF is addicted to GPS, no GPS, no war.

Rail gun has no overheat problem, rapid salvo and extreme high muzzle velocity, superior range and might even reduce the calibre with smaller projectile which means more rounds compare to regular combustion gun.

You are quite correct. Modern days warfare are heavily dependent on technology. EMP drop and everybody can start bayonet charge
