China's new carrier rocket debuts at Farnborough Air Show - People's Daily Online July 20, 2010

The new generation of CZ-5 carrier rockets along with other CZ series rockets, including the CZ-2C, CZ-2F and the CZ-3B, made a debut at the Farnborough International Air Show 2010 in Britain on July 19, according to the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology.

The CZ-5 carrier rocket at is a new generation of large carrier rockets recently developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, according to an official from the academy.

It adopts the design concepts of generalization, serialization and modularization. It is capable of great thrust, while it is also highly reliable, non-toxic and non-polluting.

I heard somewhere that toxic fuels were one of the conerns of Chinese SLVs. Guess they've solved that problem now.

everything that turkey or china develops ....... they just want to see it in their colours !!!!!!

I wonder what indians say on every new thing russia and israel develops??? :undecided::what:

koi option bhi toh nanhi hai...R&D requires lot of money and Ecucational infrastructure which they don't have....

And we donot need that much money that India need to develop a technology e.g check jf-17 and tejas programs. You will find the difference :azn:

It would be better for Indian members, to sometimes get off their high horses of sarcasm and indulge in some good discussion.

If a member has misunderstood or has no idea what it is being talked about, better to make him understand what the topic is, rather then go on a sarcastic highway and troll to make fun.

So cut the idiotic comments and if nothing else to do then trolling, then should go somewhere else.

Hope the message is clear enough.

the longmarch-5(ChangZheng-5) is the next generation of rockets. Rockets, yes, it is not a single model but refers to a series rockets.

It is designed to carry more than 20 ton's cargo to the orbit, about 3 times heavy of the CZ-3.

Long March 5 (LM-5, CZ-5, or Changzheng 5) is a Chinese next-generation heavy lift launch system that is currently under development by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT). Currently, six CZ-5 vehicle configurations[1] are planned for different missions, with a maximum payload capacity of 25,000 kg to LEO and 14,000 kg to GTO. The Long March 5 will have the second largest "carrying capacity factor" of any rocket after Boeing's Delta IV Heavy.[2] The CZ-5 rocket is due to be first launched in 2014 from Wenchang Satellite Launch Center on Hainan island.

Hi,bros

Longmarch or CHANGZHENG series are not missiles.
DONGFENG series are

the new rockets are developed to complete the mission to carry future Chinese space station, and the journey to the moon.

obviously, have to develop better vehicle for those missions. hope everything is on schedule.:china:

I don't get the "non-toxic and non-polluting" part. Why is that important????

in comparison with Delta IV's 22,560 kg to LEO and Russian Proton's 20,700 kg to LEO, I say the CZ-5's 25,000 kg to LEO is very impressive. It should fulfill China' need of transporting the core module of a Space Station

China is planning 500 ton LO-Kerosine rocket engines and 150 ton LH/LO engines for its moon ambition. But this programm hasn't been initiated.
CZ-5's main fuction is to construct our future space station and bring China back to the commercial launch market. Sending taikonauts to the moon is beyond its ability.

By "debut", do you mean that the actual prototype was built and presented, or is it simply another "exhibitions" where they show the model?
