I could care less if China sends it in one go and I’m sure NASA feels the same. It doesn’t change the fact your sending an orbiter and small rover to Mars. Things NASA has already accomplished in the past.

I couldn't care US send a rover bigger than China but still a smaller payload compare to our 5tons payload to Mars and the fact, LM-5 rocket is currently the most powerful active space rocket which the American can only drool on.

Falcon heavy is experimental launch. It has yet to reach it expected max payload unlike LM-5 which is an operative rocket reaching it's max capacity payload.

And Falcon Heavy is the most powerful rocket in the world currently. Soon to be surpassed by the revolutionary Starship.

Falcon Heavy is not experimental. Its already had three successful flights and been reviewed by NASA and certified for National Security Launches by the US Space Force. Both are well aware of the capabilities of the Falcon Heavy. Falcon Heavy is the most powerful rocket in the world currently.

But that won't last long once Starship reaches orbit. And Starship progress is moving rapidly.
