China's First Digitally Designed Rocket Program: CZ-7 (Long March 7)

Surprised that CCTV did not air it live. They should have had crew over there from early morning. I guess they are too busy to prepare for the next Spring Festival Gala :P. Pressure is too much on them and I heard they started preparations from April.

If CCTV misses CZ-5 launch live, then I will stop watching them :D

Did CCTV cover Sunway Taihulight?

No, it did not. :argh:

>Falcon 9 FT= 5.3 tonnes GTO
>8,300kg to Geostationary Transfer Orbit

your numbers don't match

brother, that number is misleading!! that's if the Falcon 9 FT is fully expendable

about 30% of the performance/payload is lost landing the first stage back on Earth or the autonomous drone ship.

Having the ability to land is a bonus...not an absolute requirement. People are still paying for the whole rocket right now. So if it burns up on re-entry like a regular rocket or lands it doesn't make a difference in cost.

no one has taken advantage of a fully expendable Falcon 9 have they?? I don't even think SpaceX offers the option.

as I said Falcon 9 FT fully expendable is more powerful, but Falcon 9 has to reserve fuel to land the first stage which means it can't put as much payload into orbit as the CZ-5 so technically it's more powerful on that point

Not so far but there's only been like 6 launches of the FT. The heaviest was 5.8 tons to GTO in March. The rocket failed the landing.

I'm just saying when it's not fully expendable that CZ-7 can put more into orbit, that's it

also my Chinese buddies how much does the CZ-7 cost?? more or less than the CZ-3B?

Kind of weird there are so many voluntary journalists from video websites.....

I thought that was cool. Citizen reporting. I viewed them until the last half an hour, later moved to the one with clearer picture.

And CCTV generally gives less than one minute for inauguration of most high-speed railways!
If a normal railway....perhaps 10 seconds

They definitely need to learn better marketing. If these do not make news, I wonder what is news-worthy.

what payload is it carrying??
and all the best to chinese friends :)

ASIAN AGE is here

The primary payload on board the inaugural launch of the Long March-7 is a prototype capsule for the future next generation crew vehicle (NGCV).

Other payloads involved are a cubesat, a block of ballast and two other small satellites: ‘ADRV’ and ‘BPV’.

. . . . .
Much much cheaper just base off using kerosene. About at least 30% cheaper.

I dunno know about that. the fuel cost is very low portion of the overall cost of a rocket.

how much is hydrazine? I can't find a source.
