China's Economic Troubles Start to Spread

Problems for China are there, but the doom and gloom scenario is frankly a wish of the anti china camp. Out of all the east asian markets, China remains a very potent player. The scale of China's domestic consumption will be important.

The GDP of Western China is also more than entire India, and grows more rapidly than India. The gap is becoming bigger between western China and India. I don't worry about Western China or Central China, the problem lies in provinces which are all about heavy industry and mining like Shanxi, Hebei and Liaoning.

what do you include in western China? For I included only Xinjiang, Tibet, and Qinghai in western China.

Central China (GDP of 2014 2.1 trillion US dollar, 356 million people)
Western China (GDP of 2014 2.1 trillion US dollar, 361 million people)

United States of America (GDP of 2014 > 16 trillion US dollar, ~ 350 million people)

Obviously Indian GDP per capita being a fifth that of China, there is scope of major soul searching, which in my mind is already happening, and that ratio will continue to decrease in future.

Also, I will never refute any fact, and it is no doubt shameful to some extent, but I think this fact is being taken out of context and being used as an attempt to humiliate Indians.

Chinese GDP per capita is still less than a eighth that of US.

So purely in per capita terms, the gap between China and US, is greater than China and India.

You have a weird notion on what is western China. But I don't blame you, since you know very little about China. Western China is already a 2 trillion dollar economy with average growth rate of more than 8%. And GDP of our third and fourth provinces combined will soon reach 2 trillion dollar. Again, the major problems are not Western China or my province.

LOL China grows faster than Vietnam even though we are 10x wealthier than you per capita. Your momentum is a nothing more than self-delusion. Carry on though, it's entertaining.
You're sure you got it right China is 10x of Vietnam GDP per capita? According to world bank data China GDP per capita is
‌6,807.43 USD while Vietnam 1,910.51 that makes China GDP per capita is around 3.5 of Vietnam, not 10x like you claim. Now compare with GDP per capita of Japan 38,633.71 USD, Japan GDP is about 5.5 of China.

Firstly compare each country start line.

China starts reform in December 1978.
Vietnam starts reform 1986
China 8 years head start.

Secondly, compare each country condition.

China sold out Russia to get economic assistant from U.S., Japan. China has 3 satellites Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan which really help lifted China economic.

Vietnam warred with China, embargo by U.S., infrastructure largely destroyed.

Take into accounts these things Vietnam is not really far behind China. Now it is up to who has better leadership.

China also has 1 order of magnitude more people than Vietnam, making each unit of FDI have less impact, requires more infrastructure, requires more imports, etc. Also, China has less water and arable land per capita, more snowfall and is surrounded by nuclear powers.

Vietnam had every advantage and blew it all.

China in 2007 was still richer than Vietnam 2015 by and had 2 orders of magnitude more leading global brands, patents and scientific papers. Back then China could put a man into space, build nuclear subs and supercomputers, fabricate its own semiconductor chips and was already a fast rising internet tech power. What does Vietnam have that is competitive in the global market? Bphone?

B phone is the best iPhone. Apple creates one of the best iPhones called B phone, next will be the ultimate flagship, iPhone6S!

Think of reverse, big population attracts more FDI, more capital for big projects. With the help JPAN, U.S and Han Taiwain, HK, Macao is more than enough people with expertise and experience to build the country with infrastructure in place. Not to mention China have large deposit resource, and close to developed countries Skorea, Japan.

China has better chances to progress than Vietnam and India during developing stage.

India speaks English, has just as big a population with more arable land and water per capita, never had a war in all of history, had help from both US and Soviet Union after independence and was only slightly poorer per capita than China until 1985. It was widely expected that India would be a fast rising star if it did not collapse due to ethnic strife.

The difference is, they invested in things other than social development and thus their life expectancy and literacy rates were never even close to China's.

In the past five years, in terms of economic and social development, China has further outpaced India. So, the development gap is even larger.

On the other hand, Modi just failed in his major election promise to provide enough toilets for Indians.
They are building some toilets, oops, no sewerage system.
Technically, a toilet without sewage is just like open defecation covered by walls, no much difference.
