China's drive for digital supremacy is likely to fail, and Huawei is going nowhere

I'm sorry you are smart, I am a lowly McDonald clown to quote @riscol. Please return to topic, is Huawei going no where?

Nope. In fact Huawei is advancing fast with 5G, smart manufacturing, and 6G research.

Baring Huawei from most advance chip manufacturing wont drag Huawei too much; Huawei has secured advanced chip stocks for their sales till 2021, and in that year SMIC will be advancing to mass production of 7nm. Even if Huawei 5G solution is not competitive anymore in international market due to having to use lower end chip, China market alone is more than huge to sustain Huawei sales until China will be ready with 3nm chip fab technology.

So Huawei can thrive in China and does not really need overseas markets or technology. I think @kankan326 expressed the same sentiment. This fight is not about Huawei, frankly having the western worlds communications infrastructure in the hands of the CCP is cause for deep concern. I think most are waking up to the implications, reinforced by CCP's attempts to push the narrative of Western incompetence during COVID. This backfired biggly, to borrow from Trump limited vocabulary.

We have seen reversals in Canada, Germany and other parts of western Europe. Likely more bad news from the middle east in 2020 and beyond. I think the CCP is too obsessed with its own well being and the sooner the good people of China come out of its reign the better it is for the world. Bottom line, unless China build on a foundation of trusted institutions there can't be happy, mutually beneficial cooperation with the west.

Don't drag others in. It is US that hates China's development in science and technology. It's US that forced other countries to not do business with Huawei. Other western countries had no problem with Huawei.

It is not about China doesn't need International market, it is about US that is too fear to compete with China in international market and political stage that make US to isolate China. So yes US' baring China from international market will be compensated by China's baring international corporation from China market, that at the end will benefit China own corporations considering China huge market size.

Bottom line, unless China build on a foundation of trusted institutions there can't be happy, mutually beneficial cooperation with the west.

"Foundation of trusted institutions" is only a fancy words for being US ally, means being subject to US interest. That means China or whoever want to be US competitor wont be trusted institution for US and western ally.

If countries like Canada, Germany, UK, Australia were concerned they would not have picked Huawei in the first place. Only after repeated threats coming from the US have forced these countries to rethink or holding back. Many threads posted by these McDonald Clowns already mentioned how the US are involved in persuading these countries through retaliations. This is an obvious sign of fearing competition with Huawei because this company owns a gigantic amount of 5g patents.

If US can convince Africa, Mideast, South Asia, and SEA that China is responsible for the pandemic that devastate their countries and how dangerous the strong China toward democratic countries then US will be successful to isolate China.

Thats why we see the narations wars in the internets that corner China.

I don't believe anyone can isolate China. And now if you follow the news, US is mired in so much shit, its distracted

Cannot isolate 100% indeed because China has allies such as Russia, Pakistan, etc. However isolating China say 50% to 70% is still possible and this is still beneficial to US purpose.

Modern China do not have an ideological purpose like the Soviets, they don't care if you are a democracy, a dictatorship, far right or far left is all about business and most modern nations relationships are determined more about economic benefits than ideological bias. Unless the Americans bring the big bucks to match China investment i fail to see how they will succeed in that and with this pandemic countries are going to need more investment than ever.

Just ask this question if someone killed 100k of your ppl, will you still trade with them? Will you still do a phase one deal? Will you still honor your debt?

Likewise with most countries in the world. US can use her leverage on US dollar loan to influence countries to be aligned with US interest.

FED now is creating money out of thin air for bail out, they not only lend the money they created to US government, corporations, and US citizen, but also lend the money to central banks of many countries in the world. It is like FED functions as world bank.

Exactly. Trump accused China to have killed hundred thousands US people and world people; now he want US and world to stop trade with China; of course not all countries will follow, but many could.

So why did Taiwan and Japan ban Huawei before the US did?
