What's new

China's drive for digital supremacy is likely to fail, and Huawei is going nowhere

there I corrected it for you

yeah super chinese level of education only approve global times. thanks for the reminder

LOL. Your argument is just 50 cent quality, talking without clue nor even logic except denial. :laughcry:

Use logic, how come China stole tech that US/Europe/Japan doesn't have yet?

And do you have any clue how China has surpass US in patent applications? both domestic and globally?

5G is another good example
On the other threats we give you examples China's modern inventions which are the first in the world.

. .
did you know the crown jewel of Huawei 5G called ‘polar coding’ was invented by a Turk named Professor Erdal Arikan? The IP around polar coding is so valuable that the CEO of Huawei threw a massive party when polar coding was accepted as a 5G standard.

The tech prowess that you are thumping your chest about isn’t even Chinese at core.

@striver44 I'm glad you have seen my post !

@MMM-E

Bro, any comment from you ?

.
Erdal Arıkan was born in Ankara, Turkey, in 1958. He received the B.S. degree from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, in 1981 and the S.M. and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, in 1982 and 1985, respectively, all in electrical engineering.

Since 1987 he has been with the Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department of Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, where he is presently a Professor.

Participation & Positions:
Publications Committee (Executive Editor, 01/01/20 until 06/30/21)
Board of Governors (Transactions Executive Editor, 01/01/20 until 06/30/21)
Claude E. Shannon Award Selection Committee (Member, 01/01/19 until 12/31/20)
James L. Massey Research and Teaching Award for Young Scholars Selection Committee (Member, 01/01/18 until 12/31/19)
Distinguished Lecturers List (Lecturer, 01/01/14 until 12/31/15)
Publications Committee (Associate Editor for Coding Theory, 10/01/10 until 09/30/13)

Author Of:
E. Arıkan , "Channel Polarization: A Method for Constructing Capacity-Achieving Codes for Symmetric Binary-Input Memoryless Channels", IEEE Trans. Inform. Theory, Jun. 2009

He never worked for Huawei.
Another claim debunked.

Ask a Turk..I have no clue. @cabatli_53
Turkey's Turkcell breaks world 5G network speed record

Polar coding is just a coding, still far from 5G achievement. Just like pascal or C++ coding, still far from search engine technology. Coding is not Huawei field, therefore it is groundless to say that Huawei is not really sucessfull with 5G since Huawei is not using their own coding to build 5G tech. Furthermore Huawei may still be a leader in 5G even if they have chosen other coding instead of Polar coding.

Of course it is achievement by Erdal Arikan a Turk professor that we have to acknowledge, but there are much more achievement made by Huawei team by FAR that we need to acknowledge either.

Btw this is one of thousands Huawei patent related to polar coding:

He has never been working with Huawei, but he has sold his polar coding theory to Huawei.

Even Ardikan say thanks to Huawei because due to his collaboration with Huawei his relatively young coding theory has evolved to this level, because at that time polar coding was still immature.

Arikan said he was surprised that his relatively young coding theory has evolved to this level, which he credits to collaboration with Huawei.

"Just a coding" like Pascal and C++ . Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about.
It's is an algorithm that makes ultra high speed transmission with robust error detection and handling possible.
It makes 5G possible.

Can't you read English? When am I saying that Polar coding is just like pascal and c++ coding?

I am saying Polar coding to 5G is like Pascal/C++ to search engine. It is an analogy.
Another analogy: it is just like Lithography to Chip, one is a tool another one is the product built by the tool.

Do you know what Polar coding is? No, coding is not algorithm. It is clearly you have no idea what you are talking about. Yes it makes 5G possible, just like c++ make search engine possible. What make it is difficult for you to grasp?

ok Polar coding = C++ Thank you for the knowledge

Clearly you know better than the organization that develops 5G standards.

The 3GPP project, which unites telecommunications standard development organisations and companies, approved Polar Code as the channel coding algorithm for 5G control channels. Polar Codes has a recursive structure with low complexity and was proven to achieve channel capacity for long block lengths.

OK, which sentence there saying coding = algorithm? :dirol:

Coding and algorithm is 2 different things. Algorithm is a step-by-step procedure, which defines a set of instructions to be executed in a certain order to get the desired output. Coding is the process of using a programming language to get a computer to behave how you want it to; that means coding is the process to get computer process according to the algorithm.

Algorithm = A well designed series of steps for solving a big problem.

In 5G polar coding solves the optimization problem. Polar Coding was acquired by Huawei by paying Erdal Arıkan lots of money (I assume).LDPC is the US equivalent of Polar Coding, LDPC offers better performance but requires greater compute resources (more expensive).

Code = Instructions for machines to execute

You're welcome.

Thank you for strengthening /confirming what I have explained to you; but you are not answering my question at all.
Coding is still not the same as algorithm. :)

I'm sorry you are smart, I am a lowly McDonald clown to quote @riscol. Please return to topic, is Huawei going no where?
